What or who inspired the book?

No one, really. The idea was a brainchild, but I guess the book was partly inspired by my sister.

How did you come up with the idea of the book?

Well, it was just after Christmas 2011, and I was in a bit of a depressive mood. I was looking after my sister at the time, and as I watched her with my dad, I realized what a strong bond little girls have with their fathers, and how strong my bond used to be with my dad before I grew up. The idea came to mind as a short story, with no romance, just Van and Aira. A story of how Van learns to care for Aira, and how Aira adjusts to life without her family. However, the idea of Little Red Riding Hood came to mind, and how a twist of fate leads the big bad wolf to her rescue. But what if the wolf wasn’t all that bad? People often think I got the title from Lady and the Tramp, when really, Lady and the Wolf is just a type of metaphor for the true lady that was Riding Hood, trusting the big bad Wolf - just like Lady trusted the Tramp.

At the beginning it sounded like Aira’s parents knew about werewolves, overtime will we see more about their history?

Yes, the story will come about as Aira meet’s new characters, some which have known her since before the accident. Although Aira’s family is in no way connected to werewolves by blood, they do have history, which you will see in later chapters.

A werewolf can detect his mate from first sight. Why didn't he?

Well, you’ll learn about that in later chapters, but for a brief explanation – Aira is human, and although Van should have picked up on it right away, two factors came into play.

1: Aira was only a child, and Van – therefore – couldn’t detect the scent that triggers this… well, switch in his brain telling him she’s his mate. (Spoiler) His wolf, however, could since he has met her before.

2: Human’s and wolves mating is very, very rare. So rare, that Drake was shunned by his pack for mating with Emma (a human). Therefore, although Van never expected to find his mate, he would have picked up the very small signs pretty quickly if Aira were a wolf, but because she is human, Van ignores this very faint call from his wolf. As you can tell by the excuses he makes.

Will Aira visit her family home and ask questions about her biological parents?

Yes. I’m actually writing that chapter ahead of time at the moment, because it’s a very big milestone for the overall story.

Van said that he is going to give the alpha position to Aiden. Why does he want to give him the position? Is he planning on leaving his pack and not mating with Aira?

Van’s history is complicated, and in future chapters you’ll understand why he wants to give Aiden that position so early on. He isn’t ‘planning’ on leaving willingly, and as for mating with Aira… well, that’s a surprise. I can’t say just yet if he will, or if he won’t, just know I have the basic structure of that already written out.

Can you explain to what is Aira’s dog and what does he do?4

When Aira found ‘Van’ (the wolf she found when she got lost on Emma’s birthday) it reminded her of the day her hero saved her, although she still can’t remember. The wolf has a place in the story, and he has a special role in Aira’s life as she grows. He’s one of those special pets every child has, although he isn’t the typical pet children usually have.

What can we expect in the following chapters?

The next chapter is mainly a filler chapter, but for future chapters it’s focusing on Aira as she grows up, and Van as he finds his wolf back home. They will reunite, but until then, I’m giving the readers a bond with both Aira and Van as they grow individually, as well as showing them the love Emma and Drake have for Aira, even though she isn’t their biological daughter. As for Lady and the Wolf’s future, well, that’s a secret

Vans mother said that Aira would soak in the blood of the packs future. What does that mean?

Van’s mother, Aleksandra, is a seer – which means she can see into the future. She’s basically speaking of a future she saw with Aira, and is saying that Aira will destroy their pack (hence, soaking in their blood). Readers will be able to understand a little bit better come the final chapters of the book. Lady & the Wolf is a book you’ll have to read twice – once it’s finished - in order to understand most of these references.

What happened to Aiden’s parents and why is he with Drake and Emma?

Aiden was adopted when he was a pup (human years, 2 years old) and in future chapters this will be explained further. His biological parent’s are connected in a BIG way to the overall storyline.

Did something happen to Van in his past for him to not be close to anyone?

Yes, something happened that made him the way he is. That will also be explained, and this is basically the theme that brings the whole book together. However, readers might be confused by the way I’ve written the book, therefore making it a book you’ll have to read over again in order to fully understand.

Will Van’s relationship with his mother ever improve?

As I put out more chapters, you’ll see the reason’s why Van is so hostile towards his mother, and why their relationship is so torn. It’s really how you feel about it, because they’re two people (in my head at least) who are stubborn, cynical, and proud. There will be no forgiveness, just a subtle understanding. If that make’s any sense.

Who is your favorite character and why?

My character’s are like my children, I love them all equally, aha. But if I had to choose, it would be a toss up between Kazimir (who you will learn more about in future chapters), and Emma. Kazimir, although only new, is as down to earth as any character I have ever written for. He tells it how it is, and is the only being ballsy enough to tell Van to sit down and shut up when he is going over the line. Emma is beautiful - inside and out. Emma loves without reason, and forgives without thought – which is a curse and blessing. When I wrote Emma, I wrote her thinking of someone caring, motherly and strong hearted. She turned out to be that and more so.

What is your favorite scene and why?

My favorite scene would have to be when Aiden left for Russia with Van and Aleksandra. I literally got all teary eyed when I wrote his goodbye with Emma and Aira; because I could feel the love he had for his mother. He respects her, and would lay down his life for her, which I tried to portray as I wrote the book. I would love to say my favorite scene was between Aira and Van, but a bond between mother and son (blood or not) can never be broken, and I tried to show that when Aiden told Emma she would always be his mother, because he knew Emma was worried she would lose that bond when he left. It also show’s that Emma raised both Aiden and Aira with unconditional love and support. She showed her support by letting Aiden leave, although she knew he would have willingly stayed if she had asked him to.

What can we be expecting in the following chapters?

The following chapters will be a bumpy rollercoaster of emotions as Aira find’s out her past, reunites with Van and Aiden, and deals with being a teenager in a world that isn’t all that it appears to be. In the end the book isn’t entirely centered on Van and Aira, it’s about everyone around them, and how fate can sometimes lead two very unlikely people together, under the cruelest of circumstances.

Team vampire, werewolf, hybrid or human?

I really, really, REALLY want to say team werewolf, but I’d have to go with team human. I mean, come on, the human’s cop the most dirt when it’s a werewolf/human story. Human’s kickass to
