"Hajime? Come on, Byakuya said to have everyone meet. Nagito isn't coming out either though." Kazuichi banged on the door again with his fist.
"I'm not feeling it, okay?" My voice muffled through the door for Kazuichi to hear."Something must've happened between you and Nagito, right?" Kazuichi came to a conclusion. I heard some clanking around until my locked door flung open.
"Wha-" I looked up suprised.
"I was the one who made these locks, plus I'm the ultimate mechanic." Kazuichi proudly put his hands on his hips. I had forgotten because he could be dense, but he was good with contraptions like locks. "Fine, you got me." I sighed in defeat as Kazuichi silently cheered.
"So, what happened?" Kazuichi sat down next to me. I knew he would make fun of me for kissing Nagito, so I had to lie. "We got into a fight." I bit my lip, hoping he wouldn't catch my lie.
"Well, then go apologize!" Kazuichi dragged me to a cottage door that belonged to Nagito. I turned to Kazuichi as he stood behind me with a smirk. The wooden door overpowerdly stood before me. My hand shook, trying to form a fist to knock. What if Kazuichi hears something awkward? What if I screw up with talking to Nagito?
"Just go already." Kazuichi knocked on the door from behind and stepped backwards. My eyes widened as Nagito's head came out of the creak in his door.
"Hinata..-kun..?" His soft voice reached my ears, as the hint of despair hid within them, but I was happy enough just to see and hear him again. Nagito noticed Kazuichi aswell, "Kazuichi, may I speak in private with Hinata-kun?"
"Okay then." Kazuichi stayed in his spot as I followed Nagito inside his cottage. It seemed very awkward at first, both of us not knowing where to start.
"So um, about yesterday.. Sorry for how I ran away." I started. Nagito shook his head, "No, I startled you." I could feel my cheeks start to heat up at the memory of the kiss.
"I just want to make sure you don't hurt yourself, but it's not like I care because I like you or anything.." I scoffed. Nagito chuckled a little bit.
"Thank you." He smiled at me, his smile was truthful. I pulled him into a quick hug. "Just don't die on me."
"Anything for you Hinata-Kun~" Nagito cheerfully said as he held my hands with a hint of blush on his face.
"H-hey, don't get too comfortable with me." I turned my head and pulled my hands back, putting my wall up in between us. "Heh, I know."
"Well, let's go meet up with the others-" I started to say, but Nagito kissed my cheek. "W-what was that for?" I stuttered.
"Nothing." Nagito responded and opened the door.
"Hey, are you guys good now?" Kazuichi's shark like teeth showed when he smiled. "Uh, yeah." I replied, noticing that Nagito was holding my hand.
"Let's go before Byakuya gives us a beating." Kazuichi joked as we all rushed to the crowd, Byakuya in the front with a death glare.
"What took you so long?" Byakuya placed his chubby hands on his round shaped body. He may seem different, but he was pretty full of himself. Once you get to know him, he's actually a nice guy.
"We ran into a little trouble." Kazuichi lied. Byakuya just shook his head and sighed. "Let's all go on a hike." Nagito's eyes widened.
"Erm, I don't think that's a good idea." I choked, being reminded of the dangers. Mikan also looked a little frightened. I saw as she whispered something into Byakuya's ear, probably explaining Nagito's condition.
"Ok then, how about you walk some of it and then have someone carry you?" Byakuya suggested. Me, Mikan, and Nagito all nodded at the same time, agreeing. Everyone then took foot on the pathway up to a mountain, not knowing what would happen in the future.
I turned around to see that Nagito was panting with his hands on his legs as he stopped far behind us. "Do you want me to help carry you?" I reached my hand out for him. "N-no, I'm fine." I felt a raindrop land in my hair. Then two. Then hundreds.
"Guys, we need to find a cave!" I heard shouting, but couldn't identify the voices. "We might have to split up!" "Meet up at the bottom after the storm!"
I took Nagito's hand and pulled him along until I found a dark cave that was empty and lifeless. Nobody was in there, but we decided to call it home until the rain stopped.
"Geez, it's raining hard out there." I mumbled, listening to the sound of the raindrops inside the cave.
Drip.. drip.. The raindrops made a melodic sound, each drop had its own tune. The wind blew in our faces, leaves squirming across our cheeks. I turned to Nagito and noticed he was shivering, not wearing a jacket. I was wearing a grey hoodie, with a long sleeved white shirt with black jeans underneath while Nagito was only wearing a green, short sleeved shirt and black jeans too.
"Hey are you cold?" I tried to comfort him. He shook his head, replying no. I remember at a summer camp I used to go to, we learned how to start a fire. I turned to my right and saw many logs and branches that flew from the high wind speed, so I grabbed two thin logs and started rubbing them together.
"What are you doing?" Nagito questioned as a small flame started to grow larger as I added more logs. I could see Nagito's cold breath disappear as the flame blocked it. "There we go, now we have a fire." I grinned. When I stared into Nagito's eyes, they lit up because of the fire.
"Oh, here." I took off my hoodie and layed it onto of Nagito while I he layed his head on my shoulder. "Thanks.." he lightly smiled, as his eyes slowly closed. I watched the peaceful Nagito sleep as the rain continued to pour down.
"I promise to protect you." I whispered before falling asleep aswell to the comfort of being with Nagito.
(Sorry for such a boring chapter, I'm just trying to post a chapter over 1000 words everyday so you guys don't have to be impatient 😅)
