August 6th 1914

My birthday was drawing closer and closer. Only three more days. Remembering yesterday, I buried my face in my sheets as my cheeks immediately flushed deep red. "Mmmf." I muttered.

As usual, I quickly got changed. Feeling a little fancier than normal, I got changed into a gorgeous off the shoulder dress (below)

Smiling to myself, I looked at the soft ombré of garnet to black. It complemented my green eyes and black hair. I heard a knock on the door.

Hurrying over, I opened the door to see someone from the jewelry shop. "Your order, Miss." he flashed a smile, and held out a fancy soft case. "Thank you. Have a good day!" Taking the case, I grabbed the handle. "You too." He replied. Nodding, I closed the door.

"YES!" I couldn't help but be excited. It would be a complete outfit. Running back to my room, I fiddled with the gold nubs until they fell into my palm. I swapped them for onyx studs. Opening the case, I gasped at the beauty of the gems. The rubies glistened in gold wrapped around the ring. They were expensive, and had come earlier than expected. Sliding one on my pointer finger, I put the other back in the case. Feeling confident and happy, I quickly went outside.

Now I noticed what I normally looked like. Almost everyone in the streets looked grave, and were wearing greyscale or burgundy clothes. Probably from Alastor and his victims. Sighing, I ignored the odd stares I got and continued on my walk.
I found myself at the park. The same one I had my nightmare based off of a few days ago. Shivering, I slid into the same bench. I was a little nervous, but dismissed my feelings. We sorted everything out already.

I had almost drifted off. I jumped as I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Alastor. He wore his usual red, garnet, and strawberry pink striped suit. He smiled upon seeing my outfit. "My. You look beautiful, Aurora." Alastor sat down beside me. "I could say the same about you." I murmured back. This made his smile somehow stretch even wider. "Oh! I wanted to talk to you about something, dear." Alastor turned to face me. I tilted my head. "There's someone else in town. No one really likes him. He refuses to say his last name, and seems like he's looking for something." Alastor's smile relaxed a little. I froze, feeling my skin pale. Please.. don't let this be happening. "Did you find out his first name.." I managed to choke out. Alastor noticed this, and his eyes flashed with a little concern. "It's Joseph, why?" Alastor replied slowly. I stopped, my heart almost skipping a beat. My father. The one that hurt me, neglected me, and murdered my mother and sister. "Excuse me, I have to go." I whispered hoarsely.
In my dress, I sprinted home. I had too much going on right now. One problem after another.

Of course. It was maybe five minutes later and a slow knock sounded against my door. Sighing, I shouted, "Come in, Alastor." The door slowly clicked open. And there he was. The demon himself. Joseph Vincent. He had a pistol in his hand. I screamed. "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE DAD!" Scrambling, I ran into my bedroom and slowly locked the door. I opened my cellar door, scooting the carpet over before closing it. I smelled pickles, potatoes, and other food. I shivered at the cold temperature. Hyperventilating, I panted heavily.
Shortly after, I heard foot steps on top of me. "Come out, Aurora. I'm here to do what I should of done when I had the chance..." He cooed. My father was a literal maniac. I almost burst into tears as he discovered the door. "Idiot." I heard him sigh. The door creaked open.
I held my breath, hiding behind shelves. I couldn't care less as a spider crawled into my shoulder, down my body, and off my shoe elsewhere. "I can see you, my daughter." Joseph began laughing. I heard him cock the gun and I soon knew it would be over. I wouldn't see the only friends I had ever again. Alastor. Mimzy. Anne. But I would see mom and my sister in heaven, right?

I heard his slow foot steps approach me. I was shaking violently now, adrenaline causing my head to pound loudly. My heartbeat was faster than normal. I shrieked as I felt the impact of a bullet hitting my chest.
The pain was unlike anything I had imagined. Blood that was roaring in my ears was now silent. All of the blood rushing to the bullet wound near my heart. It stung like hell.
One of the last things I heard was Alastor's roar of fury, and maybe seven deafening gun shots. I hardly felt the warm blood splatter onto my face and upper body as life drained out of me. "AURORA!" I heard someone quietly scream. Alastor's face came fuzzy into view. Blood dripped from his hands and face. I felt him pressing fabric on the wound. Cheesy I know.. sorry. It was like lights slowly flooding my vision, even though it was pitch black. White spots danced behind my eyes. I placed a shaking hand on his shoulder. I didn't have the words to say I would be okay. Then.. it happened. I slipped away, out of life.
Complete silence. Just.. black. Like a void. A beacon of light split the wonderful silence and peace. It felt like being whipped up and around.

I suddenly was upright and breathing fine. Sun shone down on my body. Feeling my hair, I grasped a ring around my head. It wouldn't budge. Weird appendages sat on my back. Looking at them, they were black and feathered.
Gasps of horror and shock filled my ears. Looking around, I saw people with rings above their heads.. and white feathered wings.

It was a mere glimpse. I was whipped down this time, my vision filling with dark red and black. I woke up face up. I instantly began coughing. It smelled like cigarette smoke and blood. The sky was crimson with a light red pentagram covering almost the entire "sky". My back still felt heavy, and the black wings were still there. But they seemed more dragon like. I twitched something by my rear. Confused, I saw a little fluffy black and blue tail; almost deer-like in shape and looks. Collecting myself, I stood. This time, I was ignored. Freaky humanoid things like snakes, spiders, rabbits, mice, cats, you name it. Scared, I felt my head. Tufty ears and sharp antlers met my finger tips. Freaking out, I walked a little. My bones felt normal. My clothes were the same as this morning. No blood stain, hole, or dirt. Just the dress. I felt four hands on my shoulders. Whirling around, I saw a spider demon with white and pink fur. Or hair. I couldn't even explain his eyes. "Hey, shnookums. You new here?" He said, raising an eyebrow and smirking. "Um.. yes?" I looked at him. "Angel, stop soliciting random people." A grumpy looking girl with long gray hair slumped behind him. She had a pink X in place of an eye. She reminded me of a moth. "I am not, Vaggie. I'm not that bad.." He faltered on the last sentence as he turned around and crossed all four arms at her. "Erm.." I slowly backed away. "Sorry about that, new demon. He's like that." The girl named Vaggie still looked pretty tired and emotionless, but she looked a little apologetic. "His name is Angel Dust. You already know my name, thanks to him." Vaggie death glared at the spider. Angel scoffed. "Rude. How can I not at least flirt? She looks pretty." He snapped at her. I blushed a little at the complement or whatever it was meant to be.

A pretty human-like girl with long and gorgeous blond hair with gleaming yellow eyes rounded the corner, looking nervous a she saw the grumpy spider, highly uninterested Vaggie, and awkward me. "Oh, no. What did he do now?" She sighed, walking over to us. "EXCUSE ME?! Why am I being blamed for everything?" Angel Dust stared at Charlie in annoyance. "I mean, it's mostly you that causes the problems.." Vaggie muttered. Angel Dust opened his mouth, his hair spiking and arms unfolding. "Shut it." Charlie placed a finger on his lips. She walked over to me. "I'm terribly sorry about the quarreling pair over there. I'm sure Vaggie already apologized." She sighed again. I smiled, my ears perking. "Oh, that's totally fine!" I held a hand out to her. "The name's Aurora. You can call me Aura or Auri." Charlie shook it. "Charlie. Princess of Hell." She smiled back, letting go. I gasped and automatically bowed. Charlie's already pink cheeks grew darker. "Ah, you don't need to do that." She looked a little embarrassed. "Oh, sorry." I replied sheepishly. "You're new here, right?" Charlie asked me. "Yep. Came down literally two minutes ago from what looked like Heaven." I sighed. "Did they make another mistake with placement?" Charlie sighed. "I suppose my father and I would need to deal with that.." She moaned. "More work." "Your father's Satan, since you're the princess of Hell correct?" I tilted my head. Charlie smiled. "My father is Lucifer. He doesn't like being called Satan when people mistaken him." "Oh.. makes sense." I nodded.

"Hey, you two, cut the chit chat." Angel sounded impatient. "Oh, yes. I have to work on my.. idea." Charlie looked even more tired, if that was possible. "What's your idea?" I asked her out of curiosity. "It's secret. For now. Since you seem trustworthy and died minutes ago, come back with us and I'll tell you." Charlie let the offer hang in the air for a moment. Angel Dust was tapping his foot, and Vaggie was gone. Charlie looked a little hopeful. I grinned. "Sure!" "Amazing. Follow us." Angel started walking. I followed close to him and Charlie.
Swiping my tongue over my teeth, I noticed that they were sharper than human teeth.
Gosh, I can't wait to follow Charlie and find a mirror.. I must look so weird.
Charlie rounded a corner past a strip club. We stopped in front of a tall building. Perched on the top, a little crooked, was an unlit sign reading HAPPY HOTEL.

Ackkk this chapter was so bad.. Idk if I should keep writing this book ._.
