August 9th
1935

I leapt from my bed, my ears perking straight up. It was my birthday!

It was a little tradition of mine to wear what I wore on my date of death. Grabbing the ombré dress, gold and ruby ring, and onyx earrings I brushed my ear tufts, hair, and even my nub tail. Feeling my hair, it was silky and smooth. I felt clean as I walked out to greet Charlie, Vaggie, and Angel. (I know he didn't die yet but can we just go with it please :,) ) "Happy birthday Aurora!" They chorused. Charlie and Angel hugged me tightly, but Vaggie wasn't really a touchy person so she stayed back, instead wearing a rare smile.

It's been quite a few years, and the hotel's electrical was installed, and all the rooms have been furnished at least a little, all plumbing done as well. "I have amazing news for us! We can open the hotel today!" Charlie yelled excitedly. "Ack, a little loud Charl." Angel leaned away from her a little. "That's a nickname I don't want to hear again, please. I'm so excited! I bet we'll have tons of customers!" Charlie flung her hands up. I noticed her little passive aggressive jab and Angel, and suppressed a snicker. Vaggie looked a little amused. "Don't get your hopes up, dear. Demons may be more shallow than you'd expect." Vaggie placed a hand on her girlfriend's shoulder. "I know. But I think we'll get one or two. Besides Aurora, who's technically a resident." Charlie elbowed me. I giggled quietly. "I'm going to my meeting with 666 news today. Wish me luck everyone!" Charlie tightened her overalls and bow. "Good luck, Charlie!" I grinned widely. Vaggie nodded, and Angel Dust waved good bye.

Charlie walked off, turning the alley. And she was gone. "Hey Vaggie, does this rickety thing still work?" Angel sneered and jabbed a finger at what was going to be the lobby TV before it got dropped in mud from construction. "I mean, it should." She tinkered with it a little. After a moment of wiggling the antenne and cord, 666 News Production flickered onto the screen. I sat in front of it, Angel and Vaggie by my sides. Katie Killjoy and Tom Trench did a little report about Sir Pentious and Cherri, before welcoming Charlie on the screen. By then, Vaggie was already on her way to the studio, leaving me and Angel alone.
It's turning canon now for a while, wanted to let you know.
"I wonder how that girlie's going to persuade these narcissistic shits." Angel snickered, watching. Charlie was talking about the hotel, and why she thought it was a good idea. The audio was horrible, so we couldn't hear a lot of it. One thing we did hear was the cameraman snicker and say, "Stupid bitch." Then the camera was jolted sideways. Angel began laughing wildly at this. I gave him an odd look.
Then Charlie began singing. It was seemingly called "Inside of Every Demon is A Rainbow". I was intrigued, and leaned in to watch. I noted for a quick few moments she changed into her demon form, before going back to normal.

The song was over, and I swore I could hear the entire city still. Cars stopped honking, the music in the strip club stopped playing. All for maybe ten seconds, before resuming. Angel and I clapped and cheered.

One hour later, Charlie came back to the hotel. She looked crestfallen. I sat near Angel, who was sucking... oddly.. on a popsicle. Vaggie sat with her fingers pressed against her head, looking annoyed and tired.

Charlie's P.O.V.

I slumped against the door, letting out a loud and heavy sigh. Suddenly, rhythmic knocking sounded against the hotel's door. Jolting back, I raised an eyebrow and my hand. I debated if I should answer it or ignore it. Opening the door, I saw him. The Radio demon, eyes closed, standing neatly and formally at the door. His eyes were closed. His microphone buzzed to life, and then his eyes opened. I blinked and looked terrified and surprised, somehow at the same time. "Hel!-" I slammed the door, looked away in disbelief, before opening it again. "-Lo!" He grinned widely. I slammed it again. Walking over, I said in a panicked voice, "..Hey Vaggie?" I asked her. "Whaaaat?" She replied, sounding not in the mood to talk. "The Radio Demon-" I smiled to symbolize, "is at the door!" I pointed at the door, glancing nervously at it. Angel removed his popsicle from his mouth with a pop. "Erm, who?" He asked, bored. "Yeah, who?" Aurora tilted her head. Vaggie sat upright. "What should I do?!" I dragged my hands down my face in stress. Vaggie scoffed. "Well, don't let him in!"
I promptly walked over, and stared at the door. Opening it, I saw him still at the door. Raising a finger, he looked down at me. "May I speak now..?" He asked. I crossed my arms, raising my chin. "You may." I said cautiously. "Alastor, sweetheart, pleasure to meet you! Quite the pleasure!" He extended a hand, and I didn't grab it. He grabbed mine anyways, leaning in close and smiling before letting himself in with a twirl. "I saw your fiasco on the picture show! And I just couldn't resist!" Alastor shook his head, looking energetic and excited. "What a performance!" He threw his hands up and grinned even wider. Turning around, he stated, "Why, I haven't been that entertained since the stock market crash of 1929! Hahahaha!" He laughed. "Sooo many orphans.." Alastor looked back at my confused face with mock sympathy.
