~POV: Lucas~
The blaring alarm woke up Lucas from his unusually peaceful slumber. He had frequent nightmares and was pleasantly surprised when he didn't have any right before such an important day. He yawned and stretched his arms above his head.

He slowly got up and pulled all the required parts of the school uniform he needed out of his dresser and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Lucas was tired when he stepped into the shower and didn't notice how cold the water would be. He was instantly awake and shivering.

Lucas, shortly after learning his lesson to always check the temperature of water, looked through all the bathroom cabinets and found a variety of things he has missed last night. Razors, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, combs, and more. Everything anyone would need.

After putting on deodorant and brushing his teeth, Lucas put on his school uniform with no problem. It was too fancy for his taste. His uniform consisted of a button up black shirt that had a layer underneath it. Even if someone didn't button up their shirt their chest wouldn't be visible thanks to this extra layer. The school uniform's shirt had a high collar that made Lucas feel like he would be strangled thanks to the uncomfortable collar.

The uniform had grey dress pants that looked pretty normal. Anyone could probably walk into any clothing store and find something similar. The shoes were, as everyone expected, black dress shoes. Nothing too special there.

Lucas took the comb out of one of the bathroom drawers and tried to fix his messy blond hair. A minute or two of dragging the comb through his hair later, Lucas thought it would do.

When he walk outside his room he saw Vil and Ness already waiting for him. Both were sitting at the kitchen table.

"Good morning!" Ness called to him.

"'Morning," Vil said.

"Uh, good morning," Lucas shakily responded, "I'll start with breakfast."

"Ness and I already got the eggs, pepper, salt, and some other spices out for you," Vil quickly added, "The pan is on the stove top and bowls and a whisk are right next to it."

"Wow, uhh, thanks," Lucas awkwardly replied. He walked over to the pile of bowls on the counter near the stove and took one. He started to crack as many eggs as he could to fill the bowl. Once he ran out of eggs he started to whisk them.

Toon came out of his room has Lucas was whisking the eggs, "Good morning, Lucas!" He called cheerfully. Lucas turned his head to meet Toon's gaze and saw that he was rubbing the back of his head.

"Good morning, Toon," Lucas almost forgot to ask, "Does anyone have any spice preference or allergies I should know about?"

"No ones allergic to anything," Toon responded.

"And no one has any specific spice preferences," answered Ness.

"As long as it tastes decent I'll eat it," Vil added.

Vil's comment didn't make Lucas confident, but at least he had room for error. He added in salt, pepper, and a few other spices to the mix of egg. He grabbed the whisk and started to mix again.

Red came out of his room next, "Glorious day to y'all," he joked.

"Morning," everyone else responded in a chorus.

Lucas gripped the frying pan and placed it on the stove to start cooking the omelet. He turned on the heat to the stove and started to pour the egg and spice mixture onto the frying pan, "Do we have a spatula anywhere?" Lucas asked.

"Drawer right next to the stove," Red answered, "It was there last school year."

Lucas checked and the spatula was still there. He took it out and started to finalize the omelet.

Young tiredly walked out of his room, "That smells good."

"Because it's not your cooking!" Toon yelled at him.

Young took a seat at the table next to Red.

Lucas finally finished the omelet and moved it to a large plate where he cut it into six equally size pieces which he then distributed to six separate plates. He found the eating utensils and passed them out.

"Come on, I'm hungry," Vil said as Lucas sat down at the table, "Let's eat."

Lucas silently and quickly finished his meal. He looked up to see that everyone else was enjoying their meal.

"You need to show me how to make this!" Red enthusiastically exclaimed.

"And me," Young added.

Vil, seeing his opportunity pounced (metaphorically of course), "So, who taught you?" he asked innocently.

"Yeah! They're amazing!" Toon exclaimed.

"Definitely," added Ness.

"Oh..." Lucas froze, his now dead mom had taught him, "Oh, you know...my mother..." he said quietly.

"What's she like?" Vil pushed.

Lucas may have only been nine when she was murdered in front of his very eyes, but he remembered many good things about her, "She's really nice and a good chef. She would sing me and my brother lullabies when we were younger," Lucas enjoyed the old days when everything was so much more simpler.

"You have a brother?" Toon questioned.

"Y-Yeah....a twin," Lucas relieved.

"How come he doesn't go here?" Ness asked, "Most siblings, and especially twins will go at the same time. Take Toon and Young for example."

"Uhhhh......" Lucas wasn't sure how to tell them. He glanced at a clock on the wall he hadn't noticed. It was 6:50 AM, "W-Well, I better clean the dishes-" Lucas quickly got up.

"No, I got it," Red insisted. He got up and pushed Lucas back down and took all the empty plates and eating utensils, "You cooked for us, it's the least I can do."

Lucas felt his heart start racing. Even though it had been years he had never gotten over Claus' and Hinawa's deaths, "Errr....well....my brother is...uhhhh....." the silence was killing Lucas and he could feel his heartbeat get progressively faster.

"What's he like?" Young questioned, "I know what a having a twin is like," he looked over to Toon.

"Hey!" Toon yelled.

Lucas took a deep breath, "He's dead."

Everyone instantly regretted asking about Lucas' twin.

"His name was Claus and he 'disappeared' when I was nine."

"Oh sweet Hylia," Toon started, "I'm so sorry we pushed," Toon felt terrible.

"It's fine," Lucas pushed it off, "None of you knew."

Ness, who was internally panicking, asked (LIKE AN IDIOT), "So...How's your mom?" Ness instantly regretting asking that and could feel Vil death glaring at him.

Lucas sighed, "She's also dead. Died shortly before my brother did. It's just me and my dad now."

No one had any idea how to respond to that.

"Oh, I'm so sorry for asking! I should have gotten the hint!" Ness' covered his face in shame.

"You didn't know," replied Lucas.

"I still shouldn't have pressed," Ness firmly stated, "I am so sorry."

"I'm sorry I even brought up the topic," Vil mumbled.

"It's fine," Lucas insisted. He knew they didn't meet any harm.

The rest of the time in the dorm passed by quickly for Lucas. They all apologized and talked about just cooking in general, with Lucas being the center of attention, until it was time to leave for their first day of classes.
