CHAPTER 6
I went to school the next day feeling highly demotivated, knowing that my friendship with Damon is practically ruined.
I could tell that mom was worried about me, but thankfully she didn't ask too many questions.
I wandered through the hallways dejectedly, making my way slowly to history.
After mulling over the events that happened yesterday, I guess the only suitable explanation as to why Damon was so mad was because I saw his eye. His right eye, to be exact.
Still, this doesn't mean that it makes it okay for him to lash out at me out of nowhere. I am in no way over it and will not forgive him easily.
If he even apologizes.
As I arrived in history, I was shocked to see that Damon was actually sitting in his usual position. I thought he would be sitting at the back of the room, just like he did when he was upset last time.
My eyebrows furrowed as I sat uncertainly on my seat, not glancing at him even once. With his shades securely placed to cover his eyes, Damon sat next to me with his head slightly bowed down.
I opened my bag to retrieve my history textbook but then remembered that I left it at Damon's house.
Damn it!
Damon raised his head and looked in my direction, making me realize I said that out loud.
Damn it!
His lips moved but I couldn't find myself focusing on his words, instead I find myself assessing his outfit. He looked really good today. Wearing a fitted white button up shirt and dark skinny jeans, he looks like he was straight out of a magazine.
"Haley?" He repeated in a small voice and I finally snap out of it.
Stupid hormones
I stayed quiet, not wanting to deal with him at the moment and also not wanting to give away that I was checking him out by my voice. I redirect my gaze to the front and saw his face fell from the corner of my eyes when there was no response.
"I'm sorry," he whispered in remorse as he faced a different direction from me.
I still didn't say anything, deciding to just ignore him.
He opened his mouth to say something else but thankfully, Ms.Laila entered the room and everyone immediately quietened down. Class continued on with me still not speaking to Damon even though I caught him looking in my direction several times.
When class ended, I immediately got out of my seat and rushed out of class, hearing Damon call out my name behind me. Ignoring him, I continued walking as I was still hurt by his words. I walked to my locker and grabbed my books for my next class which is physics.
I took my time grabbing it, not caring that the bell was going to ring soon and that my class is on the other side of the building. The hallway was beginning to get vacant around me, the students evacuating to their classes, leaving me alone with my own thoughts. I turned a corner and bumped into someone.
"Sorry," we both muttered at the same time.
I looked up at the familiar voice.
"Haley?" Damon asked as I hurriedly side-stepped him, not wanting to be here any longer.
However, before I could walk away from him, he reached his hand out and grabbed my wrist firmly. "Wait, please," he begged slightly.
I released an annoyed sigh, not really in the mood to talk to him. "What?" I snapped.
