This is what I imagine Chris Davins would look like.

It was time to bid Zara a goodbye for the day. Evelyn knew it because the Nurse was shooting them dirty looks for staying beyond the visiting hours. "Goodnight Sweetie, we'll see you tomorrow at the uh-funeral" scrambled out Evelyn and kissed Zara on her forehead.
Zara's face fell. And tears swam in her eyes. It was as if the last plank she was holding onto in the mighty storm would break. She realised that she was now an orphan. The word felt strange and empty in her mind. Her body wasn't quite ready to accpet her mother's death. The word death wasn't satisfactory. Only when she thought that her mother was dead pain shot throughout her body, numbing her mind and her ability to think. It was as if a weight was stuck between her heart and her stomach which just wouldn't go away. After much thinking she realised that it was grief. Grief of losing a loved one.
"Stay Strong" Encouraged Jeremy. The look that Jeremy and Zara shared was too private to look at. So, Evelyn bolted out of the door instead. Three things happened at once. Her watch suddenly became hot , her wrist burned and she noticed a flicker of movement in the otherwise empty hallway from the corner of her eyes. Her parent's words rang loud and clear in her mind. " Your watch will burn when there is deceive and perils around you. "
She became alarmed and concious of every movement around her. The clicking of the receptionist's pen, the ticking of the wall clock and the mop wiping the floor. She became so occupied in her surroundings that she didn't hear Chris Davins calling out her name repeatedly.
" Evelyn? Evelyn! Are you alright?" Asked Chris in a concerned voice, shaking Evelyn from her shoulders.
"I came to see Zara in the hospital after we were told In the school what happened to Professor Leur. When I came here, I saw Jeremy looking for you all over the place. He thought that you'd ran out of the ward" Explained Chris.
"Evelyn Are you okay?" Asked Chris speaking very slowly and stressing on the last word as if talking to an adamant child.
"Yeah..um no, it was just a head rush. I'm alright. By the way you can't see Zara for the visiting hour is up. I'll go find Jeremy." Said Evelyn distractedly. She associated the word Jeremy with home, security and safety. Her brother is whom she needed to be with right now. Yes. She needed Jeremy to soothe and tell her it's alright even if it wasn't. She remembered when they were kids and she had fallen down on the pavement. How he carried her home and while applying anticeptic, he was cooing her and saying it's okay, it won't hurt much. Wiping her tears.

Chris snapped his fingers in front of her eyes to get her attention.
"Nevermind then. Well I hope she's fine. I bought her a card and all." Said Chris with a slight blush that was otherwise invisible on his rich brown skin.
"That's sweet. Let's go find Jeremy shall we?" She said as they walked down the exit. "Oh dang! He left without me. And he took my car" growled Evelyn as she saw the now empty spot where her car had been. "Must have been too tired to wait for me" She added in a soft voice, the anger still persistent. "Couldn't he have taken an Uber? Idiot"
"Oh yeah I remember him telling me he's gonna take your car" said Chris fighting back a smile.
"So when were you gonna tell me Chrisy? " She asked in a sarcasm laced voice.
"Umm now?" Replied Chris as the smile finally came. "Let's go to the Canteen and have a cheeseburger or two. It'll make you feel better" He offered as Evelyn stalked towards the Canteen mumbling something unintelligible about stupid brothers stealing cars and unreliable friends.

"2 cheeseburgers please" Davins asked the server, handing him a $5 bill.
"So? Are you going to tell me what happened?" He asked as Evelyn face turned into a scowl. "Come on, someone had to bring it up". He continued," I know what they told us in school is only partially true."
Evelyn sighed and wondered whether she could tell him about the huge secret but decided against it. Nevertheless her curiosity won over and she asked in a hushed voice," Do you know anything about Astrotravel?" As she took the cheeseburger plate from the server, intentionally avoiding his eyes. She knew if she looked into his expectant eyes, hers would give it away. She wasn't a great secret keeper. She was holding onto fragments of peace which she couldn't let break away infront of him rather anyone.
"Yes, I do. Infact my mom is..." He looked behind his shoulders for eavesdroppers. Seeing none he continued "..from a mystical land called Hinderland." He completed lowering his voice on the last word. Evelyn let out a loud "hmmmm" to hide het shock and surprise from her face and voice.
"In order to get to Hinderland, you have to Astrotravel." He explained. Evelyn shut up like a bimbette as she debated over whether to believe him or not. Grasping that it was very sensitive knowledge that he was sharing with her, she decided to go with it.
" Okay Davins. You Gotta help me here. For some reason, I need to learn it. Trust me. It's important."
"But Evelyn what would you want to do with Astro-Travel?" Davins sounded surprised but subdued.
"Some trust here?" Evelyn said getting up. The cheeseburgers were left untouched.
'Sure. Come to my place at 10 sharp. My mom will help you" said Chris.
This suited Evelyn. It would help her verify whether he was serious or just bluffing.
"Sure. But I forgot to ask, what is your mom's name?" Inquired Evelyn.
"Oh that will work to your advantage. Don't worry" assured Chris with a smile, the black of his eyes excited.
"I know it will. But I've gotta know. I've to tell my parents I'll be over at yours tomorrow. Knowing Mrs Davins name might help" insisted Evelyn.
"Alright. If you must know..." said Chris enigmatically "... it's Dianna Verez."
