For a couple of months, the couple saw no need to risk sneaking into Caitlin's room at night. It was still warm enough for them to go out together in town so it seemed like the wiser and safer thing to do. Getting caught seemed like the worst thing that could happen so avoiding any possibility of it for as long as possible was for the best. But as December dawned on them, the chill in the air became unbearable so it finally seemed the right time for sneaking around.

Caitlin was expecting him tonight. It was eight in the evening and already dark on a rather horrible Thursday. She'd been swamped with work and found herself struggling to stay afloat with college applications and SAT prep. On top of that, she had all her homework to worry about. Sometimes she just didn't know how Barry managed to stay so cheerful and positive all the time. Then again he was looking forward to college a lot more than she was- she enjoyed listening to him talking so passionately about becoming a doctor. It made her happy to know that someone at least was looking forward to their future and as his girlfriend she was proud.

Although life wasn't so terrible, she had her Barry and so far her manuscript had been going really well. When she wasn't doing schoolwork or with him then she was constantly tapping away on her laptop. It was a good retreat for her when he wasn't available and at least for a while anyway she could forget about all her problems and jump into her imagination. She hadn't shown Barry yet but she planned to as soon as she had finished the first draft which would take probably another month or two for her to be happy with it. She was quite the perfectionist when it came to her work but she thought that was a good quality for a writer to have- striving for the best they could possibly create.

That evening, Caitlin was sat at her desk scribbling away as quick as she could to finish her maths homework. She'd never really liked maths- there never seemed to be much creativity to it, it had always seemed too black and white. But she wanted to finish it before Barry arrived because it was due in tomorrow and she wanted to spend time with him not be agonising over algebra and trigonometry. But unfortunately, he beat her to the punch and she heard a soft knock on her window shortly after.

She smiled, got out of her chair and went to open the window for him, giving him a kiss as he entered. She wrapped her arms around his neck as his found her waist, their foreheads leaning against one another and pressing little kisses against each other's lips.

As they gazed down at each other, Barry couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked. She was in her pyjamas, fluffy white robe, no makeup and her hair was loose but she looked breathtaking. Every moment they'd spent together over the last few months had been magic, he was falling for this girl and he knew it. The butterflies and the shivers, her beauty and the way his heart galloped every time she was nearby told him this loud and clear. He'd never felt this way for anyone before and he felt so blessed to be with her.

"What have you been up to then?" he asked after a short silence.

"Homework, maths homework and I haven't finished it yet. I have to hand it in tomorrow but... Well, I don't want for you to have come all this way just to sit there and watch me do algebra" she grumbled, gesturing to her desk.

"How about I help you then? I'm good at math and it'll be quicker with the two of us doing it together" he suggested with a smile.

"I can't ask you to do that, it's not fair" Caitlin protested though she couldn't deny that she liked the idea.

"I want to and I insist. Come on, the quicker we start the quicker we can make out" he joked, gesturing for her to sit on her bed with him. It would be more comfortable that way.

She smiled and grabbed her work before climbing onto the bed with him, laying her head on Barry's chest as he pulled her close by the waist. Their cuddling and general physical contact had improved massively since they had started to date. Cuddling with her boyfriend was now Caitlin's favourite activity, he was always so warm and it felt ever so good and right when he held her. It was impossible for her not to melt into his arms at the end of a hard day and often she couldn't help but wonder what it would feel like to fall asleep in his arms.
