We spend another few hours just chatting. I learn a few things about him that he doesn't even tell me about, just by watching him , I notice them. His favorite color is orange, and when he gets nervous, he stutters. His facial expressions got me though. Anytime I said anything, a brand new expression pops up on his face. I love when his eyes widen, though. It got me right in the feels. Yes. Feels.
"So I have a game tonight.." He pulls off his jersey. I nod.
"I've seen you play, you are quite good.." I smile.
"Oh yeah? Thanks." He throws it at other sofa and he sits up with his legs crossed, facing me. "More about you.." He rests his chin in the palm of his hands. I shrug.
"There isn't much."
"Of course there is. Wanna know a secret?" He grins. I nod.
"Secrets are nice.."
"Okay well it's not really a secret, but..I'm gay."
"Oh really?" Even though I had noticed..I still lit up like a light bulb. How adorable of him!
"Yes..Now on to you, I do care about the little things. They matter." He smiles again. I look up in a thinky way.
"I like bands. And food."
"How interesting," He makes a heart with his hands. "What kind of bands?"
"Like..Nirvana and stuff." I answer.
"Legit. Didn't one of those guys die or something?" His expression saddens. I nod. "Wow..Um..What kind of food?"
"Any.."
"Oohhh I like this quality." He teases. I'm in shock of how different he really is. I thought he was some stupid cute mean jerk jock..But no..I was way off. He's more than cute.
"Cal I'm home-" His mother opens the door and she stops with her words. "Oh hello there, Calum is this your friend?" She smiles.
"This is Luke mum, he's a..a friend from school," Calum stands up and smiles.
"Nice to meet you Luke, I have groceries in the car sweetie can you go get them for me please?"
"Of course, uh..be right back," He leans down and puts his finger under my chin. "You should smile more." His hot breathe makes me tingle. He heads outside.
"Oh dear, what happened to your hand and shoulder honey?" She asks me after Calum leaves.
"I uh I got into an accident.." I lie.
"Oh a car accident?" His mother comes into the living room and she gasps when she sees my face. "This was no car accident..What happened darling?" I can tell she really cares. She does the same thing with her eyebrows as Calum does when he wants to know every detail.
"Uh, just some kids at school, that's all."
"Oh sweetie that's not all, what a terrible thing to do,"She tsks and shakes her head. "I hope you feel better."
"Thank you," I kind of smile. She smiles back. Calum comes back with two armfuls of bags. He places them on the table.
"We can go into my room, if that's okay with you?" He smiles. I stand and nod. He takes my hand, right in front of his mother, and leads upstairs.
"Your mother knows?" I whisper. He nods.
"We're close.." He softly sighs. He opens a dark blue wooden door and I gasp when I see glass. He curses under his breath.
"What happened?" I squeeze his hand.
"I just got angry, it's okay," He turns to me. He is looking up a bit now. I take my eyes from the glass and meet his.
"Are you okay now?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm okay.." He smiles.
"Are you totaly sure? I pester.
"Yes. It's okay now, were good.." He answers with worry. He looks up at me, I guess he needs reasurance to see if we are actually good. I nod. And with my nod, he looks away.
Are we okay?
Yes.
Are we fully okay?
No.
Are we scarred?
All over.
Am I scarred?
Forever.
Will we try?
Hell yes.
