It would have been a nice day if he weren't running late.
Shit, shit, shit, the boy cursed in his mind as he ran full speed to his school. It wasn't that he woke up late. It was the opposite, even. He woke up too early, but his dear grandmother was about to go shopping for today's dinner and there was no way he would let her go by herself.
But even as fast as he had made himself, he couldn't avoid the inevitable and missed the whole Opening Ceremony. Though that may had been a good thing, since he couldn't have kept himself awake at the Principal's speech anyway. Problem was, the bell seemed to have rung and he would be late for homeroom, too.
Need to go to class fast! Obito scanned the class arrangement paper with his eyes—well, eye. His left eye had been gone for years now, much like his silver-haired best friend, and he had been using a piece of cloth to cover it.
Panting, he willed himself to run up the stairs to his class, slamming the door open with a loud thump. He let out a relieved sigh when he saw that his homeroom teacher wasn't there yet
I'm saved, he thought as he looked around the class, looking for an empty seat. He smiled as a tuft of silver caught his eye. He was in the same class as his best friend!
"Hey, Kaka—" Obito was about to call his friend as the door opened again, revealing an adult in a white shirt and a tie. Tobirama Sensei glared at Obito as he closed the door behind him. Obito hurryingly scurried to the empty seat at the back. It seemed Tobirama realized that Obito was late, but for whatever reason, he didn't do anything about it.
Obito was happy with his assigned seat, as he got to sit next to the window.
In stories, this is where the main character always sits, he smiled to himself, somewhat feeling proud. He looked outside and saw the blue sky, luring him to sleep. And he did. He dozed off the entire time, one hand on his chin for support.
He was awoken by a hard slap on the back
"Ow! What the hell??" he shouted as he tried to rub the place that hurt
"Hey, man! My name is Mizuki! What's yours?"
Turned out, his new seatmate had woken him up for an introduction. He was a boy with shoulder-length white hair with a slight hint of blue to it.
"It's Obito Uchiha" Obito answered. Though he thought Mizuki could have woken him up in a gentler manner, he was pleased to make a new friend.
"Well then, Obito," Mizuki stood up and put a hand around Obito's shoulder, "Let's do what Sensei said and take a look around the school together!" he said, dragging Obito.
"Um, sorry, but I'm going with a friend—"
"Huh? I'm your friend now, aren't I?" Mizuki looked a bit hurt and annoyed.
Well, that's true, but still, Obito glanced and found Kakashi who was talking with Asuma, Raido, and a girl which he didn't have the time to recognize as Mizuki forcefully took him outside of the class.
Deciding to play nice, Obito followed Mizuki. They went to the gym, canteen, and around the field.
"Hey, let's go to the library next" Obito said as he looked at his paper guide where the map of the school was drawn.
"Huh? Why would you want to go there? I didn't think you were much a book person" Mizuki commented, throwing a can toward the trash bin. He missed. Obito stared at him, expecting him to grab the trash again and throw it away properly. But Mizuki didn't, and he just mumbled a few curse words instead.
"Hey, man, you need to—"
"Ooh! Look, Obito!"
Obito was a little bit upset being cut off, but he still looked at the direction which Mizuki pointed. There, he saw three girls. One with long, curly, black hair, one with short, purple hair, and one with shoulder length brown hair.
