Shinobi High School (Kakashi-Rin-Obito Story)

Just Another Day

To say that Obito was nervous was an understatement. His face felt hot and he could hear his heart beating in his chest as he pressed the bell on a wooden door.

He faintly heard it ring inside, and not much later a couple of steps made its way to the door

Alright, Obito. Stay calm, stay cool. You can do this. Just act like usual--

The door opened, revealing none other than Rin

"Hi, obi--"

"Nice to meet you!"

Run blinked

"I mean--yes!, uhh I MEAN nice weathe--argh"

Seeing Obito tumbling over his words, Rin giggled. She pushed the door open wider and let him in. Obito gulped before taking a hesitant step toward the house.

At the day Obito and Rin cleaned the storage room together, they had exchanged phone numbers. Obito asked Rin to tutor him in math, and she happily accepted. She also had offered him to come to her house in order to study.

Though extremely nervous, he was also excited to spend time with Rin. He didn't care if it was to crack his brain and shove math formulas in.

So yeah, this beautiful Saturday would have been one of his best days

Unless, when he came to the living room, the first thing he saw was a boy wearing a green jacket

"Hoy Hobito!"

Gai was munching on his noodles, mouth full, trying to wave his hand to the Uchiha. Obito's face fell.

Of course him being alone with Rin was too good to be true.

"Sit anywhere you like, Obito. I'm going to go get your noodles. Now we only need to wait for Kurenai. I think her piano lesson is going to end in a bit" Rin said as she walked to the kitchen. Obito gave a quiet 'okay' and sat next to Gai on the carpet.

"I didn't know you were coming" Obito said to Gai, apparently bitter. He rested his head on his hand, staring down with a pout.

Gai swallowed hard before answering "Yeah, well, I heard from Genma who heard from Asuma who overheard Kurenai who was talking to Rin that you were asking for some help."

"And you're here because...?"

"I failed the test too"

Obito sighed. Maybe having a fellow failing buddy around wasn't that bad

"Random thought"

Asuma raised an eyebrow, looking at his brown haired friend, "what's it, Genma?" He asked, already turning his attention back to the game of chess he was losing.

"If there really were aliens out there somewhere, would they think of us as ugly, scary, or.. Well, attractive of some sort?" Genma said, playing with the senbon in his mouth. He was lying on the wooden floor, staring up at the ceiling. Though his gaze didn't seem to be fixed on anything

"What, you scared no one thinks of you as attractive?" Asuma teased, chuckling. Though his smile soon disappeared as Kakashi moved a horse piece, making him win with a checkmate.

"Yeah, maybe I'm just gonna settle with some space creature and get away from the earth" Genma responded, smiling.

Kakashi, who was waiting for Asuma to rearrange the chess board for a rematch, cast a glance outside, noting how nice the weather was for a nap.

"Where's Gai?" he finally asked, realizing the somewhat different atmosphere without the hyperactive youth in the group

"Studying with Obito" Genma answered, standing up to get a drink. Kakashi narrowed his eyes.
