Zipporah POV

"You should probably get ready now your night shift starts soon" reminded Anne as she packed more food, a spare candle some medications she may need to treat and a spare lamp "Thank you, Anne" replied Zipporah as she gave her the bag.

"May God be with you" replied Anne. Zipporah was still confused but she took Anne's blessings gratefully "Thank you goodnight" Zipporah closed the door of her dorm and set off for her shift

It was 10:00 pm everyone was asleep patients and nurses even Miss Wellington who snored very audibly.

Zipporah continued her patrol past the corridors until she met herself in the mirror and studied herself properly she hadn't really taken the time to do so she inspected herself in comparison to a picture of Florence Nightingale next to the mirror.

"There is no difference between us is there," she said at the picture just the fact that she was black and Florence was white she continued walking forward until something caught her attention.

Someone was wincing slighting and screaming quietly but Zipporah could hear it she came closer to the sound it came from a room with the door slightly opened she opened it a little wider she saw a shadow of a tall man in bed in an orange light she opened it wider to find the stranger.

She saw when she bumped into him and the garden he was wincing and gnashing through the pain his eyes closed through he opened his eyes only to find he had company

"It is you" he was surprised Zipporah remained quiet.

"Yes you're the nurse who tumbled over the roots and who cried and left abruptly".

Zipporah didn't look at him nor did she say anything to his response. The man felt very bad of his comment and saw how it had offended Zipporah deeply he didn't like seeing Zipporah like that

"I'm...sorry did I offend you?" he asked

"
It's fine I am used to it people only notify the bad and embarrassing thing about me" Zipporah admitted with a neutral- serious face.

"Not me" The man replied "Really sir you just notified and embarrassing encounter of me falling over and me crying you should've not seen me like that" Zipporah replied.

"Although those things did happen I remember our 1st encounter when you helped me retrieve my book" he smiled and met with her gaze he noticed that her eyes sparkled with relief.

Zipporah stopped herself getting too deep into him so she decided to change the subject "Are you okay sir" she asked.

"I am fine" he answered broadly "Do forgive me, sir,, but I don't believe you" she answered "Why don't you believe me" the man asked.

"Well you have been gnashing your teeth ever since I came to this room and also you had been wincing when you helped me this afternoon" she responded the man was silent.

"Sir is there anything wrong" "Well my arm and upper thigh is injured" "May I see?" he signaled for her approach she sat next to him and inspected the wound "How where you injured ?" "Arrow shots" replied the man

"When did you get this injury?" she asked

"not long only around last week" he replied Zipporah looked at the wounds again her hands gently stroked his arm she placed his arm on her lap

And pulled up her bag she pulled out a green glass container and a piece of cloth she soaked the cloth with the liquid and took another piece of cloth

"Sir I need you to open your mouth" Zipporah said

" What why to open my-" Zipporah stuffed his mouth the minute he spoke they exchange glances the man smiled lightly and Zipporah tried not to laugh at his silly face he had with the cloth in your mouth
