Indigo’s POV
I woke up as the fog lingered around the room. I couldn’t remember quite well, it was blurry and I think I got punched or something. My vision tried to adjust itself. First it was all blurry and white, then it focused and found Violin on the ground. The room was messy; filled with falling bookshelfs and papers. The memory of her screaming flashed on my mind.
“Elle!” I quickly shouted. Violin slowly stood up from his faint and searched for the others just like I did. He crawled his way to the nearest bookshelf and simply lay his back on it.
“What happened?” he groaned.
“Everything’s blurry in my mind. Where’s Elle?” I panicked until I couldn’t even control my breath.
“Hey calm.”
“Calm? How am I supposed to calm when she’s not here?”
“Edelweiss and Lori’s gone too.”
I kicked a rock in frustration. Now my sister’s gone too? We fought lots of times, and I already missed that. Her red-dyed hair that I always made fun of, the way she talked, and the way how easily she got frustrated was always been entertaining. Well, look who’s frustrated now? If she were here, I knew she would laugh at me. But she wasn’t.
I looked at the book ‘Red Riding Hood’ that landed a few inches away from me. I stared at it for a while; sending my mind to flew off. Elle would’ve wanted to read more of it if she’s here I thought. It felt like my heart just fell through my stomach just by thinking of it. I glanced at Violin and he continued to close his eyes like nothing ever happened. I never wanted to accused him, but somehow he was on the list. I walked towards him, half running, and took a grasp on his collar; slamming him to a door.
“Are you the one? Huh? Are you? You doesn’t even panic or sad about it. All three of them were gone. Now do you want me to grow some suspicion on you or what?” I hissed. My grip grew tighter each second. He groaned in anger as the door hinge punched his back.
“Are you kidding me?” He choked the words out. “I fainted, Wolfgang. Just like you. That person took a good punch on my head. I was just processing all of this, and you accused me on kidnapping Elle?”
I shrugged and still not releasing the grasp on his collar.
“Well do you think that villain stroke me in the face?” I rolled my eyes. “That isn’t a good reason to me Rotring.”
He cringed away from my shouting. “Well it could be you too,” he whispered; half spitting on the words. I guess I wasn’t on his favourite list of people after all. “Now if you want your ‘Juliet’ back you should stop this pointless threatening.”
I loosened the grasp and let him jerked away from me. He fixed his untidy tie that was crumpled by my grasp. He still tried to be as groomed as possible even after what just happened. He and I was clearly a different breed. I sometimes still couldn’t understand of his ‘gentleman’ doctrine. He got the brains, clothing, and arranged actions, but what did it matter if he couldn’t even think of a damn joke?
“Well you got the brains,” I let him overtake the whole plan.
“Maybe we should go to Yvonne.”
“Seriously? That was the first answer that came out of your mind?” I frowned in disbelief.
“She’ll got everything we need.”
“Yeah, such as riddles,” I rolled my eyes.
“Well, what came out of your mind then?” he said carefully; trying not to reveal the anger from exploding. I pointed at his walkie talkie that was placed on a table.
“Why don’t you check that out? Elle has the other one right?” I could see that he bit his inner lips. I couldn’t help but smirk. Look who just outsmarted him. Looked like an Elf was smarter than a bloody Holy Warrior. He quickly handed me the walkie talkie that he had. I pressed the button and heard a crackle sound from it.
“Elle?” I broke the silent. I waited a few minutes and glanced at Violin. He shook his head hopelessly. But the buzzing sound suddenly came to an end.
“I...” a voice finally came out of the walkie talkie, “Help!”
“Elle?” I shook the walkie talkie impatiently. But there was no sound coming out, then it came back to the static. “No! Elle stay with me!”
My eyes moisted and I held the tears from flowing.
What happened to her?
