Go Back to the Drawing Board

I was sat in the front corner of my art class just staring into space with a pen twirling through my fingers. Art was probably my second favourite AS level subject, after media studies. Both subjects required a lot of creative thinking, which I loved.

The only downside was that none of my friends took it. But I suppose that was a good thing too. I mean, I was much less of an idiot now than I had been in primary school, but they do bring out the prankster in me.

We'd been tasked to do a still life painting this time and I just was not feeling it today. Boring things like a bowl of fruit and crockery came to mind. I much preferred doing animations or comic book style sketches. I wonder if I could get away with doing that...

"Miss? Can I do animation?" She saw the cheeky smile on my face and chuckled in response.

"I said still life." I let out an exaggerated sigh and the other students laughed.

"Back to the drawing board for me then." I started twirling my pen through my fingers and just as an idea came to mind, my pen flung out of my hand and launched itself over to just about where Miss was sat.

There was absolutely nothing I could do, so you should have seen the look on my face as the pen flew. I sighed in relief when it missed her. "Sorry, Miss!" She looked like she wanted to fling the pen back at me. I tentatively went to retrieve my pen and crept back to my seat.

Either a home with a thatched roof or vlogging equipment—camera, tripod, laptop, I wrote on my notebook, the brainstorming page.

"Canvas and acrylics for thatched roof. Charcoal and sketch paper for vlogging equipment." I knew which one I was going to pick.
