Dianne's POV

It was the next day now and I was taking Fee Fee to her first ever soft play. I was quite nervous to be honest. I didn't know if she would make any friends or not.

I dressed her in this:

Before getting dressed myself. I make us some breakfast for the long day ahead.

''You ready to make some friends, bubba?'' I grin.

She laughs, as she nods.  I smile, she is getting so big. ''Good. Lets go.''

....

After getting lost I'd finally made it to the soft play place, and Felicity's face lit up as soon as we stepped inside. ''Felicity, let me take your shoes off first.'' I giggle, as I struggle to undo her shoes.

She was in her element. She was only in the younger bit, so I didn't need to go in with her. I could see her where she was, and there were trained staff there, too.

I ordered myself a drink keeping a close eye on Fee Fee. I turned my head to see she had made a little friend, who looked about the same age as her.

''Thanks.'' I say as the waitress hands me my drink.

They were playing so lovely together. Felicity was sharing with her, they were passing each other toys, and laughing. I was so glad she had made a friend.

It was now time to leave, this bit would be hard.

''Come on Fee Fee. Time to go home. Say bye bye to your friend.'' I say.

''NO MAMA.'' She screams. I sigh, seeing everyone looking at me and judging. No Dad . Looks like she is a single parent. Someone speaks. I feel myself getting emotional.

''Leave her alone. You don't know that.'' A unfamiliar, male voice speaks, as he rolls his eyes at them.

''Thank you.'' I smile, looking up to see a young, very handsome man stood next to me.

''No worries. I hate when people judge.'' He sighs.

''I know. It's so rude.'' I say.

''It is. Come on Mya, time to go, sweetheart.'' He says to the little girl that is attached to mine.

''NO DADA.'' She shouts.

''Mya Grace.'' He warns.

''NO DADA.NO.'' She shouts.

''I'm so sorry.'' He says, laughing nervously.

''No need. My daughter has clearly taken a shine to yours.'' I giggle.

''They both have, by the looks of it. I'm Joe, by the way.'' He smiles.

''Dianne.'' I reply back, smiling.

''Let's try again.'' I giggle.

We both walk over to our daughters, and try to pry them away from each other.

''Come on Felicity.'' I say.

''Come on Mya.'' Joe says.

''NO.'' They both shout.

''We're getting nowhere.'' I sigh.

''I er,'' He starts. ''I have a crazy idea.''

''Alright?'' I say.

''I know we've just met. But our daughters clearly wont leave each others sides. So, how about we go and get pizza?'' Joe asks, smiling.

His smile did something to my insides. Snap out of Dianne

''Sure, why not? Only way to get them to go.'' I chuckle.

Dianne what are you doing? He could be a murderer?

''Okay then. Mya why don't we go and get pizza with your new friend, and her pretty
Mummy?'' Joe winks in my direction, causing me to blush.

She nods her head furiously, taking Felicity's hand.

....

Joe and I had been chatting for ages, or shall I say flirting?

I felt like I'd known him for years. We were so comfortable around each other, it was scary.

''Here, let me.'' Joe smiles, as the bill arrives.

''Oh Joe, no. I can't.'' I say.

''Please. My treat.'' He smiles.

''If you're sure. But I'll pay next time.'' It slips out.

''Next time, huh?'' He smirks.

''I mean...'' I blush.

''I'd like to do this again.'' He whispers.

''Me too.'' I smile.

''Dada, sleep?'' Mya says.

I was confused, but Joe knew what she meant.

He laughs. ''Mya is asking if Felicity can sleep at ours?''

''Oh,'' I laugh. ''I'm not sure.''

''She'll be fine I promise. If you want, you could stay too? If you'll feel more comfortable. I'll sleep on the sofa.'' Joe smiles. Offering me his bed.

''She can stay. I'll stay, too, but I'll take the sofa. It's fine.'' I smile. ''Thank you.''

''My pleasure. Lets head back to mine, yeah?'' I nod, as he gives me his address and I drive to his.

....

''So the kids are asleep. Lets open this bottle of wine.'' Joe chuckles, coming in from the kitchen with two glasses and a bottle of Jammy Red Roo wine. ''In honour of the Aussie.'' He smirks.

After many, many glasses it was safe to say we were both drunk.

We had finished watching our movie, when Joe leans closer, putting his arm around my shoulder, as he moves closer. I don't know if it was the alcohol talking, but I really wanted to kiss him.

Joe must have thought the same, as he looks me in the eyes. I move closer, my lips inches away from his.

He places a kiss on my lips, as I tangle my hands in his hair. We pull away smiling. Neither of us knew what to say. I yawn, causing Joe to speak.

''Get some sleep,'' I nod. He stands up, as he smiles at me. ''Goodnight, Dianne.'' He whispers.

''Good night, Joe.'' I say, as he heads upstairs.

I touch my lip, the tingling feeling never leaving. I smile.

What the hell just happened?
