Six months later
Joe's POV
Today is my twenty third birthday and I'm asking Dianne to move in with me.Things are going amazingly well with us. Our relationship moved quite quickly.
I was also meeting Dianne's parents for the first time which I was terrified about.
Waking up next to Dianne was something I could really get used to. She practically lives me anyway, her clothes are in my wardrobe, or thrown on the floor, my house practically taken over by Dianne.
''Morning birthday boy.'' She smiles.
''Morning.'' I grin, kissing her lips.
''Here.'' Dianne smiles, passing me over some cards.
I had two that said Daddy on them from our twenty month old daughter Mya, and our seventeen month old daughter Fee Fee. The cute thing is they're literally three months apart.
I had another one from Dianne which I won't say what it said as it's too long.
''Thanks baby.'' I grin.
''Wait there's more.'' She beams, pulling out some presents.
''Dianne this is too much.'' I say, she shakes her head.
''Joe, its your twenty third. I am going to spoil you.'' She grins. I open the first present to reveal a watch. Not just any watch, a Rolex.
''Babe these are expensive,'' I say, as I kiss her lips. ''Thank you.'' I grin.
''My pleasure, now open this one.'' She says, excitedly.
I open the big envelope. ''Oh my god, Dianne.'' I gasp.
It was Felicity's birth Certificate. And she had added my name onto it. ''Di is this real?''
''Of course it is. I want you to officially be her Dad. She loves you, you love her. It's only right. She deserves the best Dad, and that's you. I've always left it blank, until now. Also, look at the surname.'' She beams, with tears in her eyes.
I look at it closely, grinning from ear to ear. Felicity Mae Sugg. She had changed her surname to mine. ''Just Sugg, now Buswell-Sugg?'' I ask.
''Nope. I want her to have your surname. All of it. Not half of it. All.'' She smiles.
''This is amazing, thank you. Best present ever.'' I kiss her lips.
''I can't believe after almost two years she finally has a Dad. And a damn well good one at that.'' Dianne says.
''Well I'm not going anywhere. Here, I've got you something.'' I say, leaning over the bed. I pull the box out of the bedside table, and place it in Dianne's hand.
''Joe this is your birthday. Why have you got me a present?'' She giggles.
''Just open it.'' I chuckle.
She nods, and opens it. Inside is a key. A key to my house. And now, hopefully, our house. ''Joe.'' Dianne gasps.
''Move in with me?'' I ask, as I sit up.
''Are you for real?'' I nod.
''Yes, Di, I want you to move in with me. You and Fee Fee.'' I grin.
''Oh my god.'' She says.
''Say something.'' I chuckle nervously.
''Of course I'll move in with you.'' She throws her arms around me, and kisses my lips.
''I lied. This is now the best present ever.'' I grin.
....
We arrived at the airport to pick Dianne's parents, Mark and Rina up. My nerves were getting the better of me. I really want them to like me.
Dianne could sense this as she rubbed my arm, to calm me down. "Your fine Joe. My parents are going to love you bub. Trust me, Mum goes on about enough." She giggles.
"Still it makes me nervous. I want them to like the person I'm going to marry one day." I say. As she grins.
"Trust me they will." She says, as I see her parents walk over to us.
"Dot." Her Mum smiles, pulling her in for a hug.
"Mum Dad this is Joe." She beams, holding my hand.
"Hi, lovely to meet you." I smile.
Rina pulls me in for a hug, as Mark gives me a handshake.
"He's cute." I hear Rina whisper to Dianne, as she blushes. It was a few hours later and I'd hit it off straight away with her parents. They are lovely. Dianne doesn't know her real Dad, Mark brought her up, so she calls him Dad.
"Joe can I borrow you?" Rina asks, I nod taking her to one side. "Joe. Mark and I just want to say, we approve. You're perfect for Dianne, you really are. I've seen the way you look at her. You're truly in love with her. Joe," She pauses, as she hands me something. "I want you to have this," I open the black box to see an engagement ring. "It was Dianne's nanna's, and I know how much she loved it. Joe, whenever you're ready, we want you to propose to her with that ring." Rina says.
I look at the ring. It was beautiful. And it's a family heir loom. They trusted me enough to look after it.
"Wow. It really is beautiful. Thank you for giving me it, and trusting me with it. It means a lot that I have your approval.
But I won't be doing it any time soon, I've got a plan of how I'm going to do it, though. You won't have to wait very long, maybeee, two years?" I hadn't really thought about it to be honest, but I knew I wanted to marry her. Badly.
"Joe we can wait. Just whenever you're ready. We trust you'll look after Dianne?" Rina questions.
"Oh with my life." I admit."Mama." I hear Mya call, making my heart swell.
She's been saying it for a while now, but it never gets old.
Mya made me realise something. A big something.
Maybe I'll be proposing quicker than I planned?
It's definitely going to be before the two years, that's for sure.
And that scared me.
