Emma’s POV
“All you have to do is light the candle,” Kol stated getting rather aggravated.
I had been forced to sit in their living room with a candle sat on the table for two days now. I hadn’t been allowed to leave, Elijah had tried to convince Klaus to let me go, but it hadn’t worked. Matt and Jeremy had no idea where I was as I had no contact with them. All I was allowed to do was make sure I didn’t die, and try to light a candle with my supposed magical powers.
“I can’t Kol. I need to go home, you’ve all made a mistake I’m not a witch. I’m human,” I said softly.
“I’m sorry Emma. I’ve only ever seen one person with your birthmark and she was a celestial witch. You can do it you just need to focus on it and you can do it,” Kol smiled rubbing my back softly.
I let out a sigh, staring at the candle. Nothing had happened to the candle since I’d been here other than it being picked up and put back on the table, but it hadn’t been lit yet.
I stared at the candle for longer than I had before but I began to feel dizzy. Quickly I snapped out of it feeling physically weak. Kol snapped his attention to me rather than the candle. He held onto my shoulders forcing me to lean back into the sofa.
“Shit,” he frowned, “Elijah,” he called out.
Quickly the other two brothers arrived in the room, even know Klaus wasn’t called.
“What happened?” Elijah questioned coming towards me.
“I don’t know, she was just looking at the candle, and she just became weak and her nose began to bleed, doesn’t that only happen with hard spells? This is one of the easiest spells there is,” Kol sighed.
“I’m fine,” I groaned as the pain went through my head.
“She has never done magic before, she is going to find it hard,” Elijah sighed handing me a tissue.
I wiped up the blood from under my nose.
“She needs to figure it out, it’s a waste of power if she doesn’t use it, so she needs to learn,” Klaus groaned.
I groaned getting my bearings again.
“Please let me go home Klaus. I can practice there, I miss my brother, and he has no idea where I am, he’s probably worried sick,” I frowned.
“Well I’m sorry love, the quicker you figure out your powers the quicker you can go home,” He growled.
I snapped. I couldn’t handle being sat here like a helpless little lamb unable to do any magic even though I was supposed to be able to. I stood up ready to let the anger out.
“Now look here. I’ve spent years kissing your bloody arse, so you wouldn’t hurt me or those I love, but I don’t care anymore. You are the one who wants me to do this. You are the one who says I’m a witch and I’m following your words without any proof. I have no powers I can’t do anything. Just let me go home, and find another bloody witch,” I hissed.
“I’m sorry to butt in Em, but turn around,” Elijah said calmly.
Even though I was completely fuming I turned around. There on the table the candle had a small flame over the top of it. But quickly it disappeared. The whole candle exploded in front of our eyes throwing wax at us all.
“Did I do that?” I questioned.
“Yeah, being angry must enhance your powers. You weren’t focusing on it, and your powers lit the candle, but once you focused on it, you went a bit over the top,” Kol chuckled.
“See you do have powers, and you need to practice or you’ll kill someone,” Klaus frowned.
“I can’t control the powers though. If I did that to a candle without even trying what am I going to do to people. I can’t get in an argument with my brother and blow up his head due to anger. It’s not right,” I frowned.
I genuinely thought that Klaus was making up the concept of me having powers; I never thought he could be serious about it. I also never thought I would be able to do anything with them if I had them. I didn’t think that I would be powerful enough to explode a candle with just one look.
“That’s why we have to teach you how to control them. We’ve spoken to many witches over our time we know what we’re doing more so than you. We will help you,” Klaus smiled.
“How can I believe that? All you want is my powers so I can cause issues for others. You just want something to be able to produce more evil in the world. I’m a good person. If I use my powers it’ll be for good, meaning you’ll be unable to use them as none of your plans contain any good than a good for you,” I hissed.
“Emma I promise I’ll make sure your powers are only used for good. You are a witch after all you are supposed to help keep nature’s balance rather than worsen the unbalance of it,” Elijah smiled softly.
“I believe in your promise, but I can’t trust that Klaus will stick to that, I’m even unsure that Kol will be capable of straying away from evil,” I stated with a soft frown.
Kol frowned as well, but it seemed more playful than sincere.
“I don’t think you’re being fair on the girl, brother. She has no choice she either works for me, or I kill her little boyfriend,” he smirked.
“Please don’t hurt Jeremy. He has nothing to do with this. He isn’t even my boyfriend. I will help you if I have to Klaus but I need you to promise that my friends and my family will be safe, you will make sure they aren’t hurt by anyone, and that you will not hurt them either. You promise me that and carry it out and I will promise to help you in any way I can. But I need to be able to train my powers at my own pace as something will go wrong otherwise,” I frowned.
“Well if that is what you want, then that is what you get my dear Emma. Just you must stay under this roof until we can teach you the best we can about your powers and how you can use them,” he explained.
“Deal.”
With that I shock Klaus’ had before they tried to teach me more about my powers.
