I sit on the chair and glare at Ruth and Annie. I lick my lips and sigh.

Me:Why am I here?

Ruby :We wanted to know how we got out from Rio.

Me:What did Beth say?

Annie:Nothing, she just said we wouldn't have to worry about him anymore.

Me:Awe... Why am I here? Yall believe everything else she says without a second thought what's different now?

Ruby:That she received a letter and a bullet for each member of her family. She's mad someone angry.

Me:So imma ask this again what does this gotta do with me? That sounds like a you and her problem not a you and me problem. I'm not calling shit off nor am I looking.

Annie:She has a family! How can you be so cruel!

Me:SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE IN THIS WORLD! SHE AIN'T SPECIAL! EVERYONE TOLD Y'ALL THIS AIN'T A GAME! YOU JUST CAN'T SAY OH I'M DONE THANKS FOR THE EXPERIENCE! YOU IN THIS SHIT UNTIL YOU DIE! EITHER YOU DIE OR YOUR WHOLE FAMILY A TARGET. YOU SHOULD BE QUITE HAPPY THAT YOU DIDN'T GET A LITTLE SURPRISE. Talking about cruel you ain't seen cruel yet.

Ruby:What did you do Rose?

Me:No what did your girl do. You lucky she ain't already dead. Tell her to get her shit for her kids in order.

Annie:Is that a threat?

Who this lil bitch stepping to? Ruby grabs her but she flings her hand off.

Me:You stepping to me?

Annie:What did you just say? Because I don't appreciate you-

I pull out my gun and connect it with her skull. Ruby screams getting down to help her up. I chuckle.

Me:You know, I'm not as patient as Rio with bull shit. I get shit done, I don't care about the precautions or the backfire. Family, friends or not if you piss me off I'm coming for your head... Or a limb. Watch your mouth speaking to me. I don't appreciate good girls acting like bad girls because it seems fun. Being Bad is a life style just like being Good. I get my phone off the counter and walk to my car. I don't know what a motorcycle could do to a unborn baby but I chose to not take any chances until I get around to looking the stuff up or asking my doctor.

Once I make it home I see Poppy sitting on the couch doing homework.

Me:Remind me to never have Anthony watch you anymore. Have you eaten? You hungry?

Poppy:Yes...

We go to the kitchen and grab some stuff for chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese. I see a paper on the counter folded and I pick it up. It's a mother son and father daughter dance coming up, I look at Poppy.

Poppy:I was scared to ask you, uncle Anthony said to leave it there and you'd be too noisy to leave it alone.

I laugh almost falling out of my chair.

Me:Anthony is a jerk, but if you want me to go I'll be extremely honored to go with you.

Poppy:Thank you Rose.

Me:No problem, since it's next Friday we'll go this weekend to find something okay?

Poppy:Okay!

We continue to eat and once Poppy is done he goes back to the couch, I wash everything and go to my room and lay down. My damn head hurts... And there goes my phone.

Me:What?

Leo:Damn that's how I'm talked to over the phone now? People become pregnant and forget their manners.

Me:What Jack ass...

Leo:*laughs* I got something for you about the bastard's crew.

Me:What's up?

Leo:So it seems like they didn't really have a official boss. They just did their own thing that's why they were getting caught left to right.

Me:Good so what we need to do to get em out? How about a set up?

Leo:That was gonna be my suggestion, I'll set some stuff up with Mike and Ant.

Me:Bet good looking LeLe.

Leo:That stupid ass name.

Soon Poppy is in the room with me laying down with me both of us falling asleep.

Ruby POV...

Me: What did you do to piss off Recks?

Beth:Nothing!

She's lying she's playing with everything.

Me:She smacked Annie with the butt of her gun, because she stepped to her. She was saying that you did something that now has you in the eyes of some dangerous people.

Beth:Of course she'd say that that was her future husband.

Me:What do you mean was her future husband? Beth is there something you need to tell me?

Beth:No! I promise, I'm hiding nothing.

I side eye her and get up she watches me as I walk to the back door, I turn to her.

Me:Me and my sister may not have the best bond? But I know when she's mad and willing to ruin everything in her path. And she's passed that point. You put us in the hands of a monster. You were worried about Rio but she has no sympathy or empathy for others. Annie found that out yesterday. I love you guys like family, she just knows you.

She stops and looks at me completely not fidgeting.

Beth:What makes you think she still sees you as a sister? You haven't acted like one since never. You're in the same boat as us.

Me:No matter what blood is blood...

I step out, I know I haven't been the greatest sister. But I know Rose loves me. She has to I'm the only direct family she has left. I may not have been there for her but I still love her. She gotta know that. She wouldn't hurt me over this type of thing. I have kids, Sara is just getting completely out of the dark, everything is going good with Stan. Our life is coming back together in a way. She's getting her life together starting her family even if both the parents are leaders of a gang. She's happy. She won't put me in danger, she loves my kids and Stan too much to hurt me knowing it'll hurt them.
