I look up from my computer at my son and Chris before looking back down.

Me:They're trying to get a hit out on you... I already talked to Fitzpatrick it's stopped for the time being.

He nods as he plays with CJ. He looks at me from the corner of his eye but I pretend to not see it.

Rio:I see you went jewelry shopping. The choker is really nice. High quality.

I nod and continue to type up the contract renewal for another business.

Rio:So is the engagement ring. It isn't the one I gave you... Where'd you get it?

Me:A old friend of mine went down memory lane and found it. Gave it back to me.

Rio:You were going to be married before?

And there goes that tone, I save the draft twice before closing my computer, I get comfortable on the couch and look at him before nodding.

Rio:To Malik?

Me:No, the guy I met after Malik, the one who gave me the nickname Reckless, who put me on to the illegal ways of life.

He scoots back until he's leaning on the couch looking at me. I look at the ring and shrug.

Rio:And you didn't think to tell me about him? That whole situation?

I roll my eyes and look back at him.

Me:I thought he died in a bad car crash, it hurt and when we first met I was going through a slight mood swing, hence why I was eating all the sweets and unhealthy foods.

Chris:Hmmh, and he's the friend that went down memory lane and gave you the ring back... Should I be worried?

I fix myself on the couch and look at my son then at Rio, I shrug.

Me:Maybe... I mean he's never even been close to putting me through what you have, and I'm not saying that all relationships are the same but it's just some doors you just don't open... I told you that I'd give this a try if you made an effort, you haven't-

Rio:What the fuck do you think this is right now?

Me:Uhhh, being a father? Regardless of us being together I'd hope that you would still try to be a dad, especially with the whole Marcus thing.

He just looks at me and chuckles before nodding, here we go with the petty talk.

Rio:So we're seeing different people during this?

Me:I'm not seeing anyone. Don't need to... Now I'm pretty sure you have to go see a little blonde with blue eyes.

He kisses CJ before handing him to me he leans down and kisses my forehead. He squats in front of me and I look at him. He looks at the ring on my finger and back at me with a small smirk.

Rio:You're just full of surprises huh?

Me:You should know this... Goodbye.

He gets up and leaves and I get and walk to the bathroom getting his little tub ready.

Me:And me and you have a little dinner to get to for your auntie and uncle.
