ANGELA ANDERSON: MOMENT TO SHINE [COMPLETED]

Chapter 10

The MC walked up on stage with the audience chattering. Everyone was filled with frenzy in anticipation of hearing who the winner was.

“Okay so do you want to hear who the winner is?” he asked.
The crowed cheered in agreement.

“Okay everyone, the moment we have all been waiting for.” He said as he opened the envelope.
“Everyone, make noise for” he said laughing. “Alicia Martins!”

Alicia walked on stage smiling, and acting like she couldn’t believe it. She was very happy

Angela’s heart sank in. She knew Alicia didn’t deserve to win. She saw Alicia give the judges money, she saw Alicia give the MC money. But who would believe her anyway?
The crowd became silent as everyone stared at Alicia.
“ANGELA!” her friends and family yelled.
Angela smiled, but very soon the audience began to yell her name, and even the contestants back stage with her.

They booed at Alicia and she got off stage.
The MC finally declared Angela the winner and the she received another standing ovation. Impressed with her talent, the crowd asked her to perform another song, which she did wholeheartedly.
As she sang, tears rolled down her cheeks again and she was very much excited. Winning this meant so much to her and finally she had it, she had her moment to shine.

She sang her heart out and danced on stage and the crowd massively cheered for her. It was indeed a day to remember. She had never been this happier.
She got signed to a record label, she got to meet celebrities she had been dying to see, she got the cash prize as well as a sponsored trip and shopping vouchers, and so much more.
After the program, her dad rushed to her and hugged her.
“I am so proud of you baby girl” he said as she carried her high up. She laughed and hugged her father.
The whole family came together and hugged Angela. “Congratulations” they cheered for her.
“I am throwing a party for you this night” her dad said with so much joy. “You’d better start inviting your friends.
As they walked towards the car, Angela told them to go on and that she would join them soon.

She stood back and took pictures with so many people and signed some deals and autographs. Everyone wanted to be around Angela.
“Baby girl” a voice said, as Angela felt someone hugging her from behind. Angela turned and it  was Frost.
Frost looked into her eyes. “I am so proud of you Angela” he says, placing his hands on her hips, and drawing her closer.
Placing her hands on his neck, she brushes her soft lips against his. He could taste the cherry from her flavoured lipgloss and he slowly bit her lip causing her to huff faintly.
He used this moment to deepen the kiss and as he kissed her passionately his apple perfume slowly engulfed Angela’s dress.
They didn’t care if they were in public,they didn’t care if anyone was watching them or not. They just wanted to enjoy the moment.
“Will you be my girlfriend?” he knelt down to ask, taking a promise ring from the top corner of the pocket of his shirt.
“Yes” she leaped. He slipped on the ring on her finger, as they walked hand in hand.

Early the next morning, Angela slipped on a large top and run to the car and asked George to take her to Miss Patty’s place.
She wanted to thank Miss Patty for everything and express her heart felt gratitude.

George drove her to the exact place he drove the day before, but there was nothing there.
It was as though, Miss Patty's house never existed. Angela looked around in  disbelief.
There was no house, there were no make up artistes or hairstylists.
The land was covered with grass and trees, and was very verdant. A cool gast of wind blew around her.
She looked around and saw the birds chirping on the trees and she was very puzzled as to how a house she saw the day before at the exact location was suddenly non-existent.
She gazed up to look at the cobalt-blue sky and a note dropped into her palm.
She looked at the writing on it
‘Enjoy your day love. It’s your moment to shine, Miss Patty’
She smiled.
