Angela walked up the stage in her gorgeous satin dress and transparent heels. She looked at the audience and fear and nervousness tickled her. She looked at the crowd and saw all the faces staring at her. She picked up the microphone from the host and introduced herself.
A circuit of energy began to build up around her and she began to sing her heart out. The crowd had mixed feelings as to what she would sound like but as soon as she started she blew their minds away.
The crowd cheered and yelled for her and it pushed her to sing more. Suddenly, there was a tap on her shoulder. She turned to see her brother. “wake up” he yelled. Angela quickly snapped back into reality.
“Chris” she hissed. “Supper is ready” he laughed. “Mum said to send for you. She slid her phone into her pocket and dashed downstairs to the dining hall.

The whole family was seated at the dining table. The savoury aroma of the food tickled her nasal senses. She smiled. She knew her mum had cooked. She went to the kitchen to wash her hands and sat down at the table.
They prayed over the food and began to eat.
Angela had been craving for her mum’s cooking for awhile now.
Richard and Cara really loved and cherished family moments and even the littlest of time spent with their kids meant the most to them. Even though Richard was still recovering, it meant much to him to have his family around him. After being engulfed with work so much, his family was the only escape.
They later went to the hall to watch the news together and later a movie.
Although sometimes, the Anderson siblings didn’t get along, they tried to do so because it put smiles on the faces of their parents.

Each day, Angela would secretly sneak out to go and practise with Miss.Patty and sneak back in. she managed to convince Miss Patty to place their rehearsals between the times where she felt her dad would be too occupied to notice her absence in the house and did her best to sneak back in.
Ellen always stood in for her, and since Ellen was the eldest and the most truthful amongst her siblings, well to her parents, her word was always taken.
One cool afternoon, Angela packed her bag and was about to sneak out when she saw a moving shadow. “Young lady!” Her mum spoke out sternly. “Where do you think you are going?” she asked, “Oh” Angela said, and she let out a nervous smile. “Um…” she added.
“I said, where do you think you are going?” Cara asked, getting angry. “Mum, relax” Angela replied. “I can explain”
Angela took her mum to her room, and decided to be honest with her. She explained to her mum that she had always had a passion for singing and it was her dream to be out there. She further on told her mum about her classes with Miss. Patty and how it helped her to improve tremendously. She told her mum she was determined to win it and she would go great lengths even if it meant defying her father.
Mum stared at Angela as she watched Angela talk passionately about how much music meant to her.  She smiled. “I will help you out” she said.
Angela was very shocked. She never thought her mum would support her. “You can go” mum added. “But be careful to come back on time” she continued. “I will do well to distract your dad”
“Thank you so much” Angela said and she jumped to hug her mum. It meant a lot to her that her mum was in support of her dreams. She quickly sneaked out through her usual spot and run off. She picked a cab and went straight to Miss. Patty’s.

A few hours later….

“Our time is almost up” Miss Patty said, after the rehearsal, gently stroking the keys on her piano. “Yeah the competition is close” Angela beamed. “You are a great student” Miss Patty continued, “I know you will not fail me”
“I won’t” Angela replied. She hugged Miss Patty. “No assignment today?” Angela asked. “Today, you’re free” Miss. Patty replied.
Angela run to hug her and dashed out.
She saw Frost heading towards her direction. She decided to walk in the opposite direction. “Angela!” he called out. “Wait”
Angela wished she could pretend she hadn’t heard him call out but she had no choice. She sat on the lover’s bench outside the memorial auditorium and waited.
“Angela” he said, reaching for her palm and looking into her eyes. She looked away. “It’s been two months” he continued. “Now, I know I look like a dick and all that, and you, on the other hand like to push me away, every time I try to get close to you”
She looked at him. “I don’t know what kind of experiences you’ve had or what you’ve been through” he went on. “Who says I’ve had a bad experience?” Angela asked him taking her palm off his. “well why do you push me away then?” he asked, taking back her palm and placing it on his. “I have problems” she said sadly looking at him. “I can’t fix all your problems, but I promise you, you won’t face them alone” he replied. “What if I can’t give you what you want?” she asked looking at him. “Angela, you are all I want” he smiled. Angela had never seen that look of seriousness on his face before. She was used to him always flirting and feeling himself. But, today, she saw a side of him, she’d never seen before. “What if it gets to a point where there is nothing to hold on to?” she asked again. “The best thing to hold on to in life, is each other” he smiled, moving closer. Angela laughed; “so what at all do you want?”
“I only want, two things in this world. I want you, and I want us” he said.
Angela placed her palm on his chest. “You’re really sweet Frost” she said softly. “But, I’m seeing someone” she said and she got up with her bag.
Suddenly, there was a strong gust of cool wind. The wind made the tree branches dance. The sky darkened and the clouds filled up the sky and became heavy. Angela looked up. It was going to be a rainy day and no amount of pleading with the gods was going to change that. Pitch-black dreary splodges of wool menacingly encircled the sky; like a hunter that would enclose its target.
