ROOFTOP-NOMIN (DISCONTINUED)

CHAPTER 2

Jaemin walked downstairs towards the front door of the cafe and flipped the sign so it now said 'open'. Jaemin lived on the top floor of his cafe 'Na Bittersweet'. It was open 6 days a week. Monday through Friday, it opened at 8 AM and closed at 10 PM. On Saturday, it opened at 10 AM and closed at 8 PM. His three best friends Haechan, Mark, and and Renjun worked at his cafe during the second shift everyday. Jaemin had 3 other employees that worked during the first shift everyday, but he wasn't very close to them. They were all older than Jaemin. They were in their mid 20's, so they were never as busy as Haechan, Mark, and Renjun. The three all went to the same college, so they were of course, busy until 3 PM.

*TIME SKIP TO 3 PM*

"Jaemin!" Three loud voices interrupted the peaceful and quiet environment.

"Hey guys." Jaemin said and smiled at his best friends.

Haechan, Mark, and Renjun all went in the 'Employees Only Room' to quickly change into their simple uniform and to top it off, an apron.

"How was school? Jaemin asked.

"You ask this question EVERY. DAY. And it's the same response EVERY. DAY. Of course it was pretty damn shitty!" Haechan chuckled.

"Damn. I'm just tryna be a good person and ask how their day was. Don't gotta be so rude." Jaemin put his hand on his chest and acted like he was offended.

"We were assigned a project today, and I got paired up with Haechan." Mark smiled.

"Ooo. Coolio. Hope it goes well." Jaemin said.

Customers entered the cafe, so Jaemin and Mark immediately assisted them and took their orders, while Haechan and Renjun prepared their orders.

"I was paired up with Jeno." Renjun rolled his eyes.

"Who's that?" Jaemin asked.

"Oh, only the most popular boy in school who happens to be my roommate. I hate that kid." Renjun replied.

"It's not nice to hate someone you know." Jaemin huffed.

"Yeah yeah, but he's pretty rude. He really seemed like he didn't wanna work with me. I don't wanna work with him either but we're gonna have to deal with each other. Speaking of that, I invited him over to the cafe to work on it later today. You don't mind that, don't you?"

"Nah I don't."

Jeno came in the cafe at around 8 PM. It wasn't busy at all, so Jaemin, Mark, and Haechan had no problem with assisting others.

"Hey Jeno." Renjun said as Jeno plopped down onto a chair and set his backpack down.

Jeno simply took out a laptop from his backpack, but didn't reply to Renjun.

"Awh shit I don't have a laptop." Renjun groaned.

"Oh! I have a laptop, I'll be right back." Jaemin said and ran up to his room to grab his laptop.

Jaemin ran back down and saw that Renjun was sitting across from Jeno.

"Here." Jaemin put the laptop down in front of Renjun.

"Thanks! You're a life saver." Renjun thanked the younger.

"Would you like anything to drink or eat, sir?" Jaemin directed the question towards Jeno.

"No." Jeno said coldly and began to type on some document.

"O-Okay.. How about you Renjun hyung?" Jaemin asked.

"I'll just get an iced coffee."

"Okay." Jaemin said sweetly and went to go prepare an iced coffee for Renjun.
