Derry, Maine 1985

It was just another Monday morning in Derry, Maine for the Losers club. As usual, they were all at school, sitting on a desk during history class wishing this could all be over- well most of them did.

As he always did, Ben Hanscom
sat on his desk happily listening to the teacher. He really liked history, in fact, History was his favorite class. Ben was the kind of kid who would spend all day in the library as if he was trapped by all the books and stories the library had to offer, on purpose as Richie used to question. But Ben liked it in there, he liked the fact that not many kids went there, so he wouldn't have to worry about kids picking on him for his overweight size like Henry Bowers did... like he did.

Next to Ben sat a really pretty girl named Beverly, Beverly Marsh or Bev as the losers would call her. Bev was paying attention, just not to class. She drew little hearts on her notebook and wrote Bill's name on it. She really liked Bill, she really did but sometimes she wondered if he liked his best friend more than her, or even if he didn't like her anymore due to what she did last summer... but they were still dating and that calmed her down. Bev was more of a tomboy sort of girl, she didn't really hung-out with girls. None of them liked her anyways, there were always rumors going around, about her and what happened last summer.

In front of her, sat a boy, a tall and skinny boy. His name was Williams Denbrough, Bill for short or Big Bill as Richie would call him sometimes. The Bowers gang would call him "Stuttering B- b- bill" but that was in the past. Bill had trouble paying attention to class, and he didn't have really good grades. But after what happened with his brother and all the losers, it does makes sense. Even though he was in no condition due to last summer, he tried his best to pay attention to class and that's why he sat in front of Beverly and not behind her or next to her, so he wouldn't be tempted to talk to her. That didn't change anything though, because his best friend sat next to him.

Sitting next to Bill, Stanley Uris being the big Stan he is didn't even care about history at all, all he cared about was his "messy" desk that was the most organized out of all the desks in the class. And then again, he was paying attention, just not to class. all Bill could see was Stan organized and reorganizing his desk, arranging and rearranging his pencils. Or things weren't perfect, which they never were for stan, or things were disorganized, which they always were for Stan. Because he was a Jew he got bullied a lot, especially by Henry Bowers and his gang, that never really affected him emotionally but that last summer... marked his whole life.

Two sits behind Stan was a small boy, the shortest out of all the losers, Edward Kasprak. While five of the losers called him Eddie, Richie liked calling him names like Eds, Eddie Spaghetti, Spaghetti head, and love. Eddie didn't know why Richie called him all those names, all he knew was that he hated all of them! But he also knew his cheeks would glow and he would feel the warmth of it in his cheeks. Every time. Still, it made him feel like he was being treated like a little kid, just like his mom treated him. Even though Eddie was thirteen already, his mom would treat him as if he was five, for twelve years of his life she mad him believe he was sick, giving him gazebos for his "sickness", but that's nothing compared to last summer. Eddie liked his table clean and that's why he carried cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer everywhere he went.

Very unlike Eddie, Richard Tozier, his best friend was sleeping in a desk next to Eddie. Even though Richie slept through history class all the time he still got good grades, like really good grades. Richie was smart, really smart. It is sad to think he didn't take things seriously, he had the potential, but he was afraid people would bully him even more like Henry Bowers did just because of his "Giant- ass glasses" as someone used to call them. someone Richie hasn't seen for a long time, but little did he know that he would be seeing this someone again soon, and last summer would happen all over again... but worst this time- if that was even possible. Richie was a real Trashmouth, as some of the losers would call him sometimes. But it wasn't his fault, it was as if he couldn't control when or what he says... that's what he told the losers every time, and every time the losers wouldn't believe him, they thought it was just an excuse. Richie's "loudmouth" would get him and the losers in trouble all the time, just like it would happen this morning.
