Hope was looking outside as I wrote more in my diary. I was writing about everything that happened since coming here.

Klaus walked into the room Hope and I were sharing.

"The Hollow is getting stronger." Hope turned to her dad.

I looked up, surprised.

"You can sense her?" Klaus questioned.

"When we first got here, there was always music outside, people dancing, laughing. But since she came back, it's so quiet." Hope said. "Like she's draining everything out of the city. She already took uncle Elijah. And soon she will come for the rest of us."

Klaus looked mad at the hollow. He crouched to Hope's level. "Listen, Hope and Jackson, I know you're both scared. But over the years, a lot of bad people have stood against our family, and all of the have fallen. The Hollow is no different."

"No, she is different." Hope stated.

~~~~~~~
Mom was telling us she needed our blood to stop the hollow, since we were relatives to her.
"I don't want to." Hope stated.
"Me either. Won't it hurt?" I added.
"Are you scared it's gonna hurt?" Mom asked.
"I'm scared if I do this, you're gonna pick a fight." Hope told her.
"That and I'm scared it will hurt." I frowned.
"The Hollow can hurt you, mom." Hope said.
"I know you're scared. I wish we didn't have to have this conversation. When I was your age, I had to deal with a lot of things that I didn't want to deal with either. I didn't want that for you girls, but here we are. The thing is, sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to do because you're the only one that can do them." Mom explained.
"Like you." Hope said.
"Like me." Mom said.
I bit back my fear. "Okay, mom. Do it."
I closed my eyes as mom poked my finger to draw blood. It hurt for a second and then it was gone.
"Okay." Hope smiled.
Hope got her finger poked and then mom got our blood.
~~~~~~~

"Hey, buddy." Hope's uncle Kol walked into our room

Hope held her rabbit doll while I read a book.

"Are my mom and dad back?" Hope wanted to know.

"Not quite. Hey, you know what I used to do when I was bored at your age? Magic." Kol showed Hope a rope that was into a huge knot.

"Hope's not supposed to do magic with strangers." I glared at Kol.

"What? I--I'm family." Kol stuttered.

"So why did you go away?" Hope asked.

"I went away because I was sad. And I thought I'd never be happy again. And I didn't want to make everybody that I loved around me sad, too."

I felt bad for him. Hope looked at me, before taking the rope of knots.

~~~~~~~
"If we untie this knot... your girlfriend will be free from the Hollow?" Hope asked after Kol explained what happened.
"I hope so." He told us.
"Do you really love her?" Hope asked, curious.
"Yes. Kind of like you mom loves, uh..." Kol trailed.
"Elijah." I smirked. "We aren't stupid, we know about them."
Hope laughed, nodding in agreement.
"You girls are miraculously well adjusted." He said.
Hope unhooked her bracelet, handing it to me so I could hold on to it for her.
~~~~~~~

Hope sat, looking at the knot.

"All right. Focus on the knot, luv. It's very important, I'll be right back." Kol hurried out.

Hope made the knot go in the air as she did the spell. The knot slowly came apart.

"You did it." I said. "Good job."

~~~~~~~
I laid by Hope on the ground. We had fallen asleep after the spell she did. I jumped when our door shut my itself. Hope woke up.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"I don't know." I told her.
That's when we saw the blue lights. Oh no. Hope shoved me to the ground and away from the hollow. My head smacked the ground and I blacked out.
A/N
