I looked around, sweating.
My pulse hammered in my ears. Did she follow me? Again?
I looked at the reflection of a store window.
Nothing.
The plain, expressionless faces of several exhibition dolls seemed to watch my sprouting panic with a condescending serenity. I slowly raised my gaze, carefully, to not touch anyone who passed me. I walked a curve around the people and pressed my lips tightly together, until they started hurting, while I hurried along the broad stone path of the city.
I looked to the side once again into a reflection. Why does she take her time like that?
Waiting, that really wasn't my thing and the more time went by, the worse I felt.
Because after all a big mass of people is the horror, so many possible dangers, bad intentions, stone cold hearts, hidden beginnt a human face, and I couldn't help it, but shiver despite the pitilessly shining sun.
Am I acting natural enough?
I pulled my shirt halfway up to wipe away the sweat on my forehead, but wasn't brave enough to look up.
Whatever.
Bring it to the end, this situation is not bearable at all.
I stopped walking, facing the stones between my feet, tensely looking for a green apron and the matching cafe uniform pants. Because the city was incomprehensible crowded and I had to watch out to not bump into anyone, my heart started beating frauntly everytime a small step was made towards me.
My breathing was irregular, abnormal.
Now come quickly, make it an end, as always.
The problem was, that i noticed that all of this was a dream, but I couldnt snap out of it. The pictures too realistic, too detailed, I was not able to weaken the illusion.
A tension built up, in a way, that can be compared to the moment when a blood sample is taken, right before you can feel the sharp needle pierce your skin. You knew the process, there is nothing complicated about it, it wasnt the unknown that scared one, but simply the wait.
The wait for the pain, the sting, paired with the hope, that afterwards its finally done.
"Watch out!"
