Execution

I pulled strongly on the icecold, tight grip, but it did not let go of me. Panic and the feeling to suffocate slowly started creeping into my heart as I pressed myself to the ground, heavily breathing, while my arm was still torn up and down. "Please stop-", was all I wanted to shout, but as if my voice was sucked out of my mouth, I could not hear anything I said.

Only a breath, almost like a sigh, escaped as the crowds condensed into a single mass and I could barely see the sky above my head. Human shapes were crouching in front of me, with their dark eyes staring and their chant: "Execution, execution, execution..."

My helplessness paralyzed my body, made me seem almost lifeless and accepted whatever happened around me.

"Stop, stop.", my breathing went quicker and weirder, odd, as if the oxygen in the air did not suffice anymore and a warm tear of desperation dripped from my left eye onto the cold stone.

Splish.

That noise brought darkness and everything went silent.

Only one sentence chimed so clearly, as if it was spoken right next to my ear:

"Call the protectors and execute her."

Then I screamed.

And screamed.

And even as I opened up my eyes widely, with a racing heart, I did not stop, but bit in my cushion and cried relentlessly.

A dream.
