Adoption Ain't Easy

My wife and I wanted a child so bad it hurt. She would routinely cry herself to sleep. Her womb was barren, destined to be empty for her lifetime. The doctors couldn't help us. I vowed that we would do whatever it takes to have a child. I heard there was a lot of paperwork, observations, screenings involved to obtain a child.

I didn't care. I worked tirelessly. I traveled, observed, took notes. My wife and I cleaned up our home. We improved our health. We were ready.

Finally the opportunity presented itself and I snatched it whole-heartedly. Timmy was but two years old. Our hearts melted. We even moved to a new city.

One day I was at the park with Timmy. I swear I turned my head for but an instant, and he was gone. Stolen by a kidnapper. I was crushed, but I had to chuckle to myself.

What FUCKING irony.
