Lasercorn P.O.V.
It's been 3 weeks, and no one's come to work but me. I've come to work everyday, even on weekends. It's how I cope.
As I picked up the last thing on his desk, a crocheted batman doll, a single tear rolled down my cheek as I grabbed his jacket off of his, now empty, desk and walked to my truck. I chucked it in the back and walked over to the divers seat. A couple more tears are running down my face now, but it's fine. Everything's fine.
I got out of the car when I arrived to the apartment building. I walked in and knocked on his apartment door, and Kate opened it. Her eyes were all red and puffy, and she had about 4 napkins waddeed up in her hands. I handed her his jacket, stuffing the tiny batman into his pocket. Kate hugged and thanked me for it, closing the door.
I grabbed the batman from my pocket and stared at it. I felt terrible for not giving it to Kate, but I needed something. Anything. I shoved it back into my pocket and started walking towards the elevator, when Kate opened the door.
"David?" She asked quietly.
I whipped around and saw her holding a beat-up box.
"What's that?" I asked, pointing to it.
"It-It's from Joven." She said, with tears welling in her eyes.
"What?" I said, my voice cracking. What did she want from me?
"Take it." She said, shoving it in my direction. She looked away as if she was going to barf.
"N-No, you should keep it." I said, backing away slowly.
"Take the box!" She screamed at me. I ran towards her and grabbed the box, also hugging her.
"It will be okay Kate." I said.
"It will."

"Dada!" Tyler screamed, running at me as a walk into the door.I felt terrible for not seeing him much this past month, he was clearly a Daddy's boy, but I could not stand to be alone with my own thoughts. Not even with him.
"Hi Buddy!" I smiled.
I got down on my knees and hugged him super tight. I needed this. He was my sanity. I loved him so much. But I pulled away and checked the time. 8:27. Way past Ty's bedtime.
"Sabrina?" I shouted for my wife.
I heard only sniffles as a reply. I sprinted into the room, seeing Sabrina sitting at the side of our bed. She and Joven were best-friends, as I brought him home so many times. Kate loved Bri too.
"It will be okay." I said as I slid my arms around her. I pulled the box over from the side of the bed.
"Kate gave me this." Bri looked over and then turned her body.
I opened the box and saw about 30 envelopes, all sealed up nicely. We still don't know what happend to him, but we do know one thing:
Joshua Ovenshire
Is
Dead.
Hello Everyone! Sorry for the short chapter, they will be much longer in the future. I hope you guys have enjoyed, let me know any ideas or any guesses you have for how Joven died. Was it a Murder? An accident? A suicide? Who knows? (Me. I do.) But anyway, I hope you all have a great day!
Bye!!
