Evalynn was now three years old. she was walking, sort of talking and a lot to handle. Levi and Erwin were outside with her one day just letting her get some of her energy out by running around outside when it started to rain. It was only a light sprinkle at first so they didn't go in but once it got heavier they decided it was time. They got dried off and left Evalynn with Hanji so they could go get some work done.
As Hanji glances over from the exowriement she was working on, she noticed Evalynn was coughing a but and looked pale. She went over to her and put a hand in her forehead to check her temperature. She pulled her hand back in shock as she felt the child's very high fever.
She imminently called Andrew in with her PDA and they began to run some tests. A worried expression glossed over both of their faces as they found she had pneumonia and her body was having a really hard time fighting it off. They instantly out her on medication and called her parents in to tell them the situation.
Erwin looked stone faced and stoic and Levi was a bit taken back. "Is she going to make it out of this" Levi finally asked trying to break the silence that had fallen over the room. "We will do everything we can to help her through this levi, but pneumonia can be deadly, especially in young children like eva" Andrew said softly trying to comfort his brother in law.
It too two weeks for evalynns fever to break and the illness had permanently damaged her immune system. Her health would always be at risk but at least she was alive.
Erwin let out a relived sigh when he saw evalynn back to her normal bully giggly self. This was a scare that they would ebeve forget.
