So a few weeks ago, I debuted the custom cover art for my book, "The Death of a Dream". Truth be told, I had finished that cover months before, I just couldn't bring myself to look at it. Ask MoranaGlinka. She waited months to even get a peek at this.

I was a little scared to debut it because part of me felt like I was obligated to offer custom painted covers as part of the services here. I decided that I will not offer it. It's time consuming, and I'm pouring my sweat and soul into a FREE cover art. Cover designing is easier since I don't have to manually paint the pictures from scratch.

The Request:
- Mystaline
-the glowing blue flower
-somber/ominous feeling
-black and blue colors ONLY

Step one in every tutorial I have ever made is to start with the base. Since this is cover art, the base is first drawn and outlined in MediBang. The base is always shitty. I don't really care for detailing since that's what grayscale is for. So for the 'base' it's just Mystaline's figure and some cabbage looking thing that's supposed to be the flower that represents her.

Next. I'll start on the background. All I did was dye the whole thing in black and add a faded blue circle as a point of reference when doing the lighting.
