Song of the Day:
Trivia: Love
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The walk to work the next day had been fine, up until Seongmin saw the red pigeon.
After spending time with Namjoon the night before, Seongmin had felt much better in the morning. She'd actually had a great day thus far, her alarm clock working correctly for once. Her work preparations had gone smoothly, with no interruptions from unseen eyes, crazy friends, or tiny spiders. She'd left with enough time to walk to work at a comfortable pace, without sprinting to get in without being late. It was going almost too perfectly.
So naturally, everything had to go wrong.
Seongmin drew her padded jacket up around her more snugly, the chilly autumn air biting into any exposed skin. She'd even wrapped a scarf around her face as an extra precaution, but she still found herself on the brink of shivering. A thin layer of frost sparkled on what leaves were left on the trees after the wind had decimated them, a blue crystalline coating with gold shining beneath like buried treasure. Small puddles of melted frost that the sun had hit pooled beneath the trees, little ripples disturbing the reflections they held as cars on the street moved the air above them. Little golden leaves floated about the puddles like tiny canoes, creating minuscule trails of ripples through the water.
It was like a fairy kingdom had appeared overnight, a peaceful haven hidden in the midst of the Korean city. It was beautiful, adding to Seongmin's reasons of being in a good mood.
A moment later, something new shattered it all, and the fairy kingdom was forgotten to Seongmin.
A small flock of pigeons fluttered to the sidewalk in front of her, one fixing large dark eyes upon her with an unnatural intensity. For a moment, Seongmin wondered if she had indeed stepped into another world, for the eyes of the little bird were not the only things that separated it from the dull grey flock surrounding it. Its feathers, shimmering in the new sunlight, were a beautiful but exotic shade of red that made it look like a scarlet plane in a foggy sky. It stared at her, and Seongmin swore she could see it jerk its head to the side in a 'follow me' gesture.
A moment later, it hit her. The red colour, the intense gaze, the head gesture. This was no pigeon.
She moved into the nearest alleyway she could find, goosebumps popping up on her arms as the memory of the last alleyway she'd been in flooded her mind. Fortunately for her, if her theory was correct, she didn't need to worry about an attack this time.
A flutter of feathers and a 'whoosh' sounded behind her, and when she turned, the pigeon was gone. In it's place, a young, red haired man stood, in a black T-shirt and leather pants
(A/N: Not a word lolacucaaa ), the only odd thing about him being a red mask that covered his face."J, why aren't you in costume?" Seongmin smiled at him, and he returned the grin, though his dark eyes were filled with concern. Seongmin immediately understood something was wrong.
"I'm not technically on duty right now," he said, shifting a bit like he was uncomfortable. "I just came here to tell you something. Something's... gone wrong."
"What's up? Are you okay?"
J's dark eyes crinkled up in a cute smile. "I'm fine, thank you. It's... more about you."
"Me? What did I do?"
"You didn't do anything. It's just... you recall what happened last time you were in an alley? The three gang members that attacked you?"
Their faces flooded Seongmin's memory again. Song's whispered threats, Kim's taunts, Gang and his silent, piercing gaze. She shivered involuntarily.
