Chapter 2

The visit to Sakurazaki Academy was eventful to say the least. Many students knew about the group's demon hunting endeavors, and they especially knew about the marriage between Jack and Yukina, blessed with her parent's acceptance and rendered demon-proof by the Kamizono charms. Many students had attended and realizing that it was their anniversary, Jack and Yukina received a gift that everyone had decided on- brown and purple distance bracelets to match their eyes.

"And you're saying the whole academy thought of this? How much were these?" Jack asks.

"They were at least ten thousand yen each. They're custom made." A student replies, and Yukina's eyes go wide with shock.

"You did not have to spend so much money just on us!" Yukina says.

"Don't sweat it Yuki." The student says, holding his hands up. "We had everyone in the academy put in at least a hundred yen. There were more generous ones who donated more but hey, we pulled it off."

"...Yuki?" Jack asks, glancing at the student before chuckling. "Ah, I'm just joking around with ya."

"Whew!" The student replies as Jack and the others continue to make their way around the academy. Once things have been settled, the four leave the academy, only to run into someone. He sports long, black messy hair and sports the academy uniform like Jack does. His gray eyes go wide as Shinobu's and Maya's do the same.

"What's going on?" Jack asks.

"HOUDAI?!" Shinobu and Maya ask at the same time.

"Shinobu?! Maya?!" Houdai asks, bouncing the question back at the sisters.

"So this is Houdai, huh?" Jack says.

"And who are you?" Houdai asks.

"I'm Jack. I'm a demon hunter associated with these two." Jack replies. "And I've heard some... Things about you."

"Like what?" Houdai asks.

"You know exactly what!" Shinobu shouts. "Don't tell me you've forgotten how crazy you were! Houdai you stinkass! Dumbass! JACKASS!!!"

"...Huh?" Jack asks.

"No not you silly." Shinobu says, smiling at Jack, but it fades away as soon as she turns to Houdai. "What do you want?"

"I was leaving the academy a little earlier than normal." Houdai replies. "Now please stop getting all pissed off at me. Who's she?"

"Me?" Yukina asks, pointing at herself.

"Yeah you." Houdai replies. "Didn't you drop out?"

"No I did not drop out." Yukina says. "I simply had a family emergency."

"A family emergency doesn't warrant dropping out of the academy though..." Houdai mumbles.

"And your problem is?" Jack asks Houdai.

"It's just not fair!" Houdai replies.

"Well guess what? Life's not fair, so grow a spine and get used to it." Jack says. "I've been through more crap than you. You think you're the "super popular legend", well super popular legend my ass. You had your popularity stint, now get used to the real world." Houdai looks like he's about to slap Jack across the face, but his hand misses and starts heading for Yukina. Jack catches Houdai's hand with his own and crushes it with his grip. Jack then grabs Houdai's neck as he pulls out a pistol with an elongated barrel and scope and presses the barrel into Houdai's face.

"Ghgk!" Houdai chokes out as he holds his broken hand in agony.

"You can smack me around all you want for all I care, but you DARE lay a hand on my Yukina and I won't hesitate to put a hole between your eyes. Do I make myself crystal clear?" Jack snarls. "Pick your words wisely, or it won't just be your hand that's getting crushed."

"Jack! That's enough!" Shinobu shouts out. "I know Houdai's not a good person but he's still our childhood friend! Please don't kill him!" Jack looks at Shinobu and notices her genuinely worried face before letting Houdai go and letting him breathe.

"Don't ever let me catch you looking at Yukina or these girls the wrong way again." Jack growls. "If you wanna test me, you can have a little talk with me and masamune." He adds maliciously, aiming the pistol at Houdai for a few seconds before leaving with Shinobu and the others. Once they're out of visual range, Jack puts away his weapons and Shinobu looks at Jack with a worried expression on her face. "I'm sorry... I can't stand people who objectify women, and Houdai is the textbook example of one of those people. I thought you hated him because he became a pervert."

"He might have been pervy around me and Maya but under the effects of that angel arrow he still helped us out, saving us a couple of times." Shinobu replies.

"I could understand that." Jack says. "But it still doesn't make up for the fact that he's a pervert, a creeper, a stalker- how else did he know we were leaving the academy at this time?"

"Jack..." Shinobu says, but she trails off as they head back to their penthouse where it's starting to get late into the night.

"I'm really sorry you had to see that side of me babe." Jack says to Yukina.

"You already explained yourself, you do not have to apologize." Yukina replies. "I understand that you dislike people like him."

"More than just dislike." Jack says. "The last time one of my so called guy friends objectified one of my lady friends I made sure he wouldn't ever do it again."

"I'm afraid to ask how..." Maya says, but Shinobu fills in.

"Jack had gotten in trouble for knocking out most of the guy's front teeth." Shinobu explains. "I only know because I was around the corner when I saw what you did to the guy. I swear I could have heard the punch from where I was standing."

"I won't let guys get away with perving on women, period." Jack says. "Either they stop themselves or I'll stop them myself."
