"Sir are you sure this is okay? I mean a demon with a high rank, such as yourself, is breaking a rule." A man had said. This man had dark skin and dark blue horns, his eyes matching said color.

"Hey, I'm not breaking it unless anyone catches me." The other demon said with a small smirk. "And it won't be for long. I'll be back within a day or two, if I'm not, you can come look for me." This demon was tan with dark red eyes and horns to match.

Both demons stood in front of a dark misty circle. It seemed to be a portal of sorts. A portal to the human world.

"My lord-"

"Don't call me that. I'm no lord, not yet. My title is just prince until that certain day comes. However, right now, as I'm going against this rule, my title to you is just your friend, like how it was when we were younger." The male said.

"As much as I disagree to your plan your majesty, I can not stop you, for you have a higher rank than I. And we also have a bond of trust, therefore I trust you to go to the human world and make it back safe." The dark skinned male said.

The tan demon smirked again. "Thank you, Lothren."

"Of course, Dazod." This was the last thing the male had said to the prince before he passed through the portal.

"Ugh... I feel nauseous..." A male muttered, kneeling on the ground. "But hey, I'm here."

Dazod stood up and looked around. "It looks like my dimension, but less dark and destroyed..."

"Excuse me!" The red horned male turned around to see a guy with a blue cap on... he also seemed to have a badge on him. "This area is restricted. Please leave and we won't have any problems."

"Who in the hells are you?" Dazod asked, staring the police officer in the eyes.

"I'm part of the police force, so I'm your superior!" The man said. "As I said before, please leave and we won't have any problems." The Officer cautiously reached his hand down to something in his holster.

Dazod just smirked. "My superior eh?" He says, before glaring at the man, there was a fire in his eyes. "As far as I know, I'm the superior in this world and the next."

A ball of fire rested in his hand. "Now stay back and let me do as I please- ugh!"

A bullet had made it's way through Dazod's arm, then through his waist.

"What the hell are you?!" The Officer said.

"That's none of your concern." The demon said. "But just know, I'll be back for you."

The man shakily pulled out his walky talky. "B-Back up! Now! There's someone here and he isn't human!"

"Damn right I'm not!" Dazod said, shooting a ball of fire in front of him and running off.

'These wounds will heal quick, but I need a place to rest until they do.'

~

A girl on her knees, crying as she gripped onto the ends of a woman's dress. "Please Miss... I'm a child like the rest of them... why can't you look at me with love in your eyes and hold my hand gently like you do their's? Brianna and I are the same age, why do you favor her more? Should I be more like her...?'

"No one can love a girl like you. You're disgraceful heritage... no one will ever look at you with love or care. The only kindness you'll ever get is out of pity. No one will ever truly love you."

The girl let go of the woman's dress and covered her eyes as she cried on her knees. That woman was right. No one could ever love a girl like her, not even herself.

'But... I didn't even know my heritage at that time... so why must you say such things to a child?'

"Hmm...?" A girl with short dark brown hair sat up. "That dream again, huh...?"

The small girl looked out the window. "The sun is setting, I guess I slept through the day, again... good thing it's the weekend and not the day I have to work..."

She sat up and put on the dark purple hoodie she had. She put her hood up, but felt something was missing. "Ah! My hair clip..." she looked around her pillow and blanket to see if it was hiding somewhere there, which it was, it was right under her pillow.

Once she put it in her hair she looked at herself in the mirror. The mirror showed her reflection... an exact replica...

A girl with shoulder length brown hair and golden eyes.

"I have the eyes of father... and the hair of mother... mother was pretty, but I am ugly and with these cursed eyes..." She whispered. "The color of my hood doesn't even match my hair clip..." The girl sighed.

This was the self loathing, orphan girl, Esme. Though she may be short and look young, she actually is quite older than she seems. It is said that she is around fifteen to sixteen at most. At least that's what her file says. Speaking of which, her file rests on the counter, but sadly she has no clue what it says, since she can't read.

"Let's see, what time is it...?" She muttered to herself. She looked at the small alarm clock she found a year ago. "Hmm its about eight at night... oh! And the trash comes tomorrow..."

'I guess I should take it out now, since I know I won't be up in time and I also have to work...' She thought.

She went to her garbage can and grabbed the bag. She tied it up and dragged it out back where the dumpster was. She lifted up the top of it and threw the bag in.

"Ugh..." a voice groaned from in the dumpster, before Esme shut the lid and turned to walk back inside.

Wait.

Did the dumpster just groan?

Esme cautiously walked back over to the dumpster. Then she carefully picked up the top of it and looked inside.

She saw a man with red horns sitting at the bottom of it, he looked tired. He had one eye open and was scratching a side of his head.

The man then looked up and saw the head of a girl with a look on her face that he couldn't describe.

They both stared each other in the eyes.

'Gold eyes...'

'Red eyes...'
