'Right now I'm sitting at the table, across from Day, he won't look me in the eyes...'

"Day?" Esme said, he jumped, either out of nervousness or out of thought.

"W-What?" He asked, still not looking at the young girl.

"You won't look at me, why is that?" Esme asked.

"W-What do you mean?" He asked, looking at her, but not in the eye, he looked at her forehead. "I'm looking at you right now."

"I meant in the eyes." She says. He didn't reply to that, instead he turned his head.

'We were so close last night... what's with this guy...!'

Esme then got on her knees and stretched across the table, grabbing each side of his face with her hands and turning his head towards her, making her look at him. "Look at me, damn it!"

His face turned red. "I-I'm looking! I'm looking! N-Now let go of me!"

She sighed and let go, she then sat normally. "Okay... then tell me... what's up? We were having fun yesterday... did I do something?"

'What? No, it's not her...!'

"What?! No! It's not you!-" he cut himself off when he realized his thoughts became vocal.

"Then what is it? C'mon, you can tell me." She says.

"It's just... it's about what I said to you last night... about giving you a clearer answer..." The male demon says.

"Oh."

"Oh?" He repeats, he was expecting more than a one worded reply.

"Yes, oh. If you don't have an answer don't worry about it. I'm not one to pry, you should know that by now... and don't worry about having an answer. I can wait." She says, giving him a small smile.

He was surprised. "It's just that... I want to say... I want to say that I don't necessarily want to become a 'demon lord', but I also don't want everything I worked for to be thrown away... everything has always been set in stone for me, that's why as soon as I get back I must continue to follow my responsibilities."

Esme looked at him quietly for a moment. "Day... I said this before... you can change that." She says. "When you become the demon lord you can change those rules. You can make differences and no one can judge you for them."

"It doesn't work like that, exactly..."

"Oh? Do you need like this whole government meeting?" She asked, this caused him to laugh a little.

"No... it's not like what you human's do... it's hard to explain... I don't think you'll understand." He said with a small smile.

Esme raised an eyebrow, but decided not to pry on the subject, she could tell this was stressing him a lot. So she thought of something.

"Hey... Day."

"What?"

"Can you tell me more about you?" She asked.

He gave her a look of surprise. "Huh?"

"Well you know a lot about me. I want to know a lot about you. I know you're some 'demon prince' and you have a certain skill, but I want to know even more... not just about your royalty." She says.

This really did surprise him more and more. He thought she'd be the last person to ask about him, since ever since he met her she had been so rude and indifferent... yet, she had a gentle and kind side.

"You want to know more about me?" He said. He then laughed a bit. "I thought you wanted nothing to do with me."

"Just start talking before I change my mind." Esme says, giving him a blank expression.
