'Where am I?' Esme was in some sort of gray fog. 'Wait... that's right...!'

Esme sat up and looked around. "Day?!" She shouted. She stood up and carefully walked. "Day?!" 'That man... where did he take me?'

"If you were trying to sneak away you should really be quieter." A male voice had said from behind her.

Esme got chills and cautiously turned around. "You. Where the hell did you bring me?"

"Relax. I'll bring you back in a bit, but let's just talk." Sekhaz said with a smirk.

"And why should I believe that's all you want?"

"All that shit I said, I didn't really mean, it was just to get on Dazod's bad side. The killing was more 50-50, and that more I mentioned I didn't mean that at all. After all, I have no interest in human's. Especially one's with nothing to attract."

This made Esme more irritated than scared at the moment. 'Did he just take me here to piss me off and make fun of my body type?'

"Anyways, let's get back to what I was talking about." Sekhaz says. "Sir Dazod, how long have you known him?"

"Known him...?" Esme mumbled. "A few days, I guess. Why?"

Sekhaz internally grinned to himself, it seems she didn't know.

"Did he ever tell you about what happens when a mortal finds out about demons?" Sekhaz asked, his internal grin started becoming external.

"No...?"

He let out a small laugh. "Oh poor, pure girl." He then wrapped his hand around her throat and picked her up that way.

"H-Hey stop...!" She says, barely being able to breathe. Her hands held onto his wrist, trying to pull his hand off.

Sekhaz's grin had stopped and his eyes showed a piercing glare. "Well you see a demon must kill that mortal."

She couldn't show her shock, as her vision started to haze. 'But... Day said he would... protect me...'

Just before she was going to faint Sekhaz dropped Esme.

She fell to her knees and began to cough and heavily breathe.

Once Esme's breathing became normal she looked up at him. "B-But he wouldn't kill me. He swore to protect me."

The black haired demon laughed again. "Well that's quite the vow, and with a human no less." He then looked back at her. "Then most likely when that vow is up, he'll kill you. It's a law."

Esme looked at the ground, well whatever ground there was. 'Day's really... going to-'

"Oh yeah, Esme." Esme looked back up at that horrible demon. "Shouldn't you be happy. After all, it's not like anyone could love you."

'It's not like anyone could love you.' That sounds similar to what that woman had told her.

"Now, time to send you back." He says with a smirk. He snapped his fingers and now she was on her knees, in the alley, and her back was facing Day.

"Esme...!" He says, running up to her. Dazod put a hand on her shoulder, and she hit it away.

"No...!" She says, standing up and taking steps away from him. She then faced him. "I know about that rule...!"

"Eh..." '"Whenever a human finds out about a demon's existence that human must be killed."' He remembered his father telling him that when he was younger. 'Damn Sekhaz... She didn't need to know...!'

"Listen Esme-!"

"No! You're going to kill me once our vow is up, right?!" Esme yelled.

"Esme, please just listen!-"

"I want a yes or no! Will. You. Kill. Me?" She asked.

He stayed quiet.

Esme looked at the ground. "I see...-"

"...No."

"Eh?"

"No. I won't kill you." Dazod said. "Because we will make a new vow on top of our first one."

"How do I know you're serious?" Esme asked.

Day now stood in front of her, extending his hand out. "Because I want you to have faith in me. Trust in me."

'Trust in him...' Esme extended her hand out a little bit. She then held her pinky out. "Dazod."

This grabbed the male's full attention. It was the first time Esme ever called him by his full name.

"I want you to swear that after all of this is over you will not kill me. Promise me!" She said, this is the most serious he's seen her.

He smirked a little and extended only his pinky. He wrapped it around her's. "I promise."

Esme smiled a little. It surprised the demon, since it was directed at him.

"Hm?" The girl's expression went back to her normal, stoic one, after seeing Day's face of surprise.

"It's nothing..." The male said.

~

"Hey Day... how did you know that 'girl' was actually a demon. Sekhaz? If I remember correctly." Esme asked.

It was now later in the night and both Esme and Day were sitting on the floor, on opposite sides of the window.

"That's his special skill... just by touching a person he can unlock some parts of their memory and can transform into someone from their past. In your case, it's that girl... Brianna."

Esme brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them.

"I see... so when he helped me up this morning, that's when he was able to unlock some part of my memory..."

"Yep..." Was all Day replied with.

'What an awful way to use it on people...' Esme thought. "Oh yeah, Day, what's your special-demon-skill, or whatever the hell you call it."

Day looked at her a bit surprised, he didn't expect her to ask. He then smirked a bit and brought up a finger. Fire then glowed from it. "I can create and use fire to my advantage. Pretty neat, huh?"

"Yeah..." Esme replied. 'Eh, she actually fines it cool?' "Except you could probably burn a whole building down." 'There's the remark.'

Then they just sat quietly. However, it wasn't awkward... it was nice until Day remembered something.

'Oh right... that paper... I probably need to tell her about it...'

"Hey... Esme..."

"Hm?" She looked over at him once again.

"That paper, with your name and picture on it... I read it..."

"What...?"
