Emma's POV
"Sorry it took so long."
"Oh no it's fine Regina really." She nods and sits down next to me. She sets the glass of whiskey down and then the bottle.
"Funny." I say and I chuckle.
"I figured you'll need more than one cup."
"I do." She turns my cheek and looks at it.
"It's kind of bad. I'm sorry. I feel somewhat responsible for it. For this whole mess. Maybe if I just stayed away from you. You'd be fine right now."
"Don't. Please don't blame yourself. This is all Lily's fault. 100% it's her fault. She brought this on herself. She threatened to take Henry away from you." She looks down.
"I know we aren't exactly friends and you don't trust me but I hope you know that I would never do that to you. You're his mother more than I am. I appreciate you for loving him when I couldn't. And I'm sorry for even a second where you thought I would do that."
"Thank you for that." I nod and she takes a alcohol pad and starts to clean my face. I hiss in pain and she apologizes quickly.
"I'm sorry. I should've warned you. I didn't think, I'm sorry."
"No it's okay."
"Does Miss Paige wear rings? There's a few small cuts."
"Yeah she wears rings."
"I'm sorry again."
"No it's fine Mills." She nods and finishes cleaning it. Then she gets out some cream.
"It will help. It might tingle a little." I nod watching her carefully as she spreads it across her fingers and then her cold hands come to my face. She then uses a cleaning wipe and then some hand sanitizer to clean her hands before applying some more to my cuts.
"There you go."
"Thank you."
"It's not problem." I look at her and she swallows.
"You're not mad at me?" She asks and her hand goes to fall from my face but I stop it and hold her hand to my face.
"Of course not. This is all Lily's fault. You didn't do anything. You're the victim here. She came after you for no good reason and I'm so very sorry about that. I didn't think she would do that. I didn't know she was that kind of person."
"Me either. She seemed nice when I met her."
"It's over now. She won't bother you."
"But I'm sure you cared about her. Does it kind of suck?"
"Yeah it sucks. But what sucks more is knowing you thought she would really take Henry. Your fear about loosing Henry because of her, well that's what really sucks."
"Yeah it does."
"Thank you for cleaning my wound."
"No problem."
"Want to drink with me?"
"I have work in the morning." She says and I smile.
"One cup." She nods.
"One. Nothing more okay?" I nod and I let her hand fall and she slips away behind the wall into the kitchen. I lean back and pour myself a whole cup of the whiskey. I sip it down as Regina walks in with one cup. She pours herself a small amount and then sits crossing one leg over the other.
"Does this make us friends now?" I ask.
"No. We aren't friends."
"But you just cleaned my wound."
"People can do that. Doctors do that all the time without even knowing the person."
"But you're not a doctor. You're my friend."
"We are not friends Miss Swan."
"Come on you can't hate me that much."
"I never said I hated you." She says and I give her a 'really' kind of look.
"You didn't have to say it. Your distaste in me is quite clear."
"I'm just not a friend person. I can't open up to people. It's a big fear of mine. I don't intend to be hurt again."
"I think you'd be a great friend. Can't you just try?"
"Miss Swan."
"You can start by using my first name." I ask hopeful.
"That's another challenge for another day Miss Swan. It's getting kind of late and unlike you I have to get up an angry child in the morning. So I need all the rest I can get before all hell breaks loose."
"Want me to come and explain why I ditched dinner? There is no need in Henry thinking you're at fault here. I should've called but I went running if you couldn't tell."
"I did kind of put two and two together since you are in more comfortable clothes than those ugly skinny jeans and that horrid leather jacket."
"I bet you think it's cute."
"It's disgusting and you wear it too much."
"It's special to me."
"It's hideous."
"Oh hush." I walk to the door and when I turn she hands me a small ziplock bag with stuff.
"Alcohol pads and cleaning wipes. Also some of that cream. Apply it with clean hands everyday. It will go away and leave your face looking at it did before."
"Tell me how did I look before?" I ask teasing and she shakes her head rolling her eyes.
"Not as bad as you do now."
"Ouch." I say hand over my heart.
"That one kind of hurt a little."
"I'm glad. We aren't friends Miss Swan. I'm not obligated to be kind to you."
"I like your sassiness and how rude you are. It's quite sexy Mayor Mills."
"Leave my doorway and go to Granny's. Walk safe."
"You care about me."
"If you end up dead my son will think I killed you. He hates me enough without thinking I killed his birth mother."
"Even if you did I wouldn't blame you. Plus I bet you'd look so hot killing me in nothing but a small nightie."
"You've obviously had to much to drink. Go away Miss Swan. I'll see you in the morning."
"Yes you will Miss Mills."
"Okay leave."
"I just. You're beautiful without makeup."
"Oh I forgot I wasn't wearing any."
"You're even more beautiful without all that stuff on your face. Makeup enhances your features but they stand out on their own and the scar above your lip is more visible and it's definitely very sexy."
"Are you drunk?" She asks and I laugh.
"Drunk? No. Very much into messing with you. Yes."
"Miss Swan I-"
"You don't have to say anything. I know where you stand as your feelings for me. And I like when you're mean. Most people like it. You're a challenge and it's fun."
"Glad to know you're having fun while I'm just being aggravated 24/7."
"Okay goodnight Regina."
"Goodnight Miss Swan. If you want breakfast tomorrow you might want to show up a bit earlier."
"Will do."
