A/N:
Erm, I don't have that many reads on here, do I? *le pouts*
I made rice pudding for school today, and gave some to people in my class, then teachers.
*~~Woot woot for getting out of class for 10+ minutes ~~*
Hehe, well... I reallllllllllllllllllllllly hope you like this book? chapter? Cucumber?
Okay, that was a pointless a/n.
I do plan on revealing some of the things that have happened when Karolyne was younger, but not too much, because I want to make a book about her traveling from Mex. to Alabama.

"What do you mean you're not going this year?"
I yelled at my aunt, who had an apologetic look on her face.
"Well, they said if I took the two weeks off like I usually do, they would fire me."
She sighed, running her fingers through her jet black hair.
Her eyes lit up as she thought.
"I know!"
She snapped her fingers.
"You can- Oh wait. I don't want you going alone."
She sighed, dropping her hands to her sides and frowning.
"Nana said she wanted to go with me this year."
I mentioned casually, crossing my arms over my chest.
She looked up at me and finished her previous thought.
"Well, since they didn't tell me they would fire me until today, I already have money saved up. You and Naveah can go to your Tia's house and come back in two weeks."
She sighed and looked at me, her eyes turning hard.
"But don't you dare go back the where your Tia used to live."
She said in a cold voice as I took a step back, nodding meekly.
"Okay, go pack. The bus will get here tomorrow at 1, I want your stuff by the door tonight at 8."
She smiled at me, reaching out to hug me."We're taking a bus?" I asked, confused. I thought they took a train every year? Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather a bus. Trains brought on toom any bad memories.
"No, silly, you're taking the bus to the train station, but the only train station that goes all the way to Mexico is in Georgia, so you're taking the bus there."
I sighed, my shoulders slumping as I headed to my room to continue packing.

I was having a nightmare, and although I was aware of it, I couldn't stop it.
Just like every time, I was sitting alone in those dark, cold woods.
Waiting.
I heard a branch break in the distance.
Footsteps marching towards me, the crickets scared silent by the looming shadows.
Making myself smaller, pushing myself deeper into the log I hid in.
Listening as they reminised.
