"Stop being such a baby, Lyn!" He gradded my arm roughly and looked into my eyes.
He sighed dramatically, turning and throwing his arms up into the air.
"Fine, will it make you feel better If I do it first?"
I nodded and smiled, looking down at the steep hill.
He smiled softly and grabbed the wooden slab, placing it on the top off the hill.
"It's the closest to snow either one of us will see."
He smiled, sliding onto the slab and pushing himself down off the hill.
I smiled, clapping as he leaned to the left and right, manuvering through the makeshift obstacle course we made.
Towards the end, the side of the slab suddenly bounced into the air, throwing Lucas off and into the air.
I screamed, running around teh side of the hill, where it was not as steep.
I heard a small crash, which fueled my short legs to go faster, I pumped them harder, finally making it to the bottom of the hill.
Lucas was laying at the bottom of the hill, the small glass table we had used shattered next to him, jagged peices sticking up.
"Lucas!"
I yelled, running towards him, and lifting him up by the arms.
His face was covered with dirt and sweat and I pulled him towards my aunt's house.
"Tia!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, trying to support the boy that was a good 4 inches taller than me.
She ran outside, her eyes wide and frantic until they landed on me, she ran towards me, grabbing Lucas and easily carrying him into the house.
"What happened??" She asked, her voice angry and concerned at the same time.
"We were playing by the hill and he fell and i think he landed on some broken glass."
I turned and looked at her, my eyes wide and scared.
"Is he okay?"
I turned and grabbed his dirty hand, squeezing it as hard as I could.
"Oh, he's fine, he's just being a drama queen. He's not even passed out."
She smiled, patting his arm affectionatley.
I pinched his arm as hard as I could, hearing a satsfying 'ow' from where his mouth should be.
Lucas frowned, rubbing the spot and then reaching for his lip.
"Ay! I have something here, it hurts!" He yelled, cupping his lip in his hands.
Tia pried his hands away from his face, leaning closer and gasping in suprise.
"Ay Dios! You have a peice of glass in your lip!"
I started crying, not understanding that a simple peice of glass was easy to remove.
Eventually my aunt got the glass out and we reterned to being the hellish children we were.

I opened my eyes, after re-living the memory through my dreams.
I sighed in contempt as I hoped to fall into a calm dreamless sleep.

"But Lucas! Please?" A younger me pushed out her botom lip and stomped her foot, then realizing Lucas wasn't going to stop for her, ran and grabbed his scrawny arm.
"Lucas! Please? I'll be your bestfriend!"
I plead, digging my feet into the ground to slow his fast-paced walk.
"No, I already told you! And I already have a bestfriend."
I stopped, letting go of his arm and squinting at him in disbelief.
"Nuh-uh! Who?"
I defiantly asked, smirking at him after recovering from my momentary confusion.
He paused, thinking and then smiled at me.
"Juan."
I frowned, shaking my head angrily.
"No, remember you punched Juan 'cus of that time he pushed me into the river?"
I remembered that day, we were walking across a log that was our makeshift bridge, minding our own buisiness.
We made it across and then when we were turning to go back across it, Juan- A big boy with a never ending runny nose- pushed me into the water.
Albeit the water being a mere 3 feet down, It didn't matter because I couldn't swim. I remember the tips of my feet brushing the ground, but never being able to get up straight, the current dragging my small body under.
I swore on my life I was going to die, and I almost did, until Lucas jumped into the water, and pulled me out.
The boy who had pushed me in was sitting on the ground crying and holding his cheek, turned out that Lucas had punched his 'bestfriend' right on the side of his face.
A younger version of me was holding onto Lucas' back, trying to hold him back from hitting Juan again.
"You're so stupid," He yelled, his face turning red and angry. "She doesn't know how to swim!"
He would continue yelling at the boy until Juan started crying again and ran to his mother.
Then, he turned to me and grabbed my hand, dragging me back to my house.
"I was just kidding Lyn," he started, turning and smiling down at a cold and wet me. "You are my bestfriend."
