I woke up, my eyes wide as the memories flodded my mind everytime I closed my eyes.
I could hear Lucas laughing, or grunting at me in anger, I could hear the sound of the train tracks almost as If I were righ tback on top of that train with Sergio.
Oh... wait... I was on a train.
I was sitting in my bed, calming my breathing and just pondering, well... life, when the train must've veered left or right, because I fell off my bed with a delightful plop.
"Ouch..." I murmered mostly to myself, rubbing the now sore spot on my back.
I sighed, making my way out to the movies and video game section of the train I now knew existed.
Searching through the movies was not fun, I had seen most of these at least two or three times already.
It's better than the nightmares, the rational side of my brain argued.
I agree with you, brain, It's better than the nightmares.
Sighing and sitting indian style, I jumped up when I heard a chuckle in the near distance.
"Early bird, aren't ya?" Jared asked, not sounding like the friendly and bubbly Jared we met two days ago.
"Yeah, I, uh, get really bad nightmares." I decided to tell him the truth, since it was easier than making up lies.
He nodded, a softness suddenly appearing in his eyes.. "I used to get really bad dreams-" "nightmares, not dreams." I interrupted, as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"I used to get really bad nightmares too..." He finished, fixing his earlier blunder.
I nodded at him and turned to look longingly at the food that was set up on the breakfast bar.
Jared snapped his fingers in front of my face, bringing me back into the real world.
"Um, hello? Did you hear anything I just said?"
I blushed a little bit and shook my head no.
He turned to see what I was staring at so lovingly and saw the breakfast bar.
"Are you hungry?" He asked, motioning to the breakfast bar with his thumb.
"No," I answered, as my stomach protested in a loud and long growl. "Okay, maybe just a little bit...."
My stomach growled again and I blushed and started walking towards the wonderful food.
Jared laughed and began walking with me, grabbing a plate and piling it with food.
"Well, let's talk about your..." He paused, making hand gestures in the air until the word came to him, "Uncle."
I grimaced, I didn't want to walk about my 'uncle'... I didn't want the sad and happy memories to overflood my brain...again.
I turned and told him lie after lie.
He nodded as I told him that my guardian (My aunt's boyfriend) was a cop, and how he was high ranked- pretending i didn't know anything about the ranks, of course- and so he was told about all the happenings of the state- Texas. But then, I continued, we moved to florida and he left my aunt, and moved back to the wonderful state of texas.
He nodded along in the right spots, ad played off the interested act too well.
"So how did you recognize the other one?"
