A/N: This story is based on an idea from Sylveon12. Definitely check out her work, she does awesome stuff!

"Meow," Glameow purred as it stretched out on the window sill. The cat Pokémon enjoyed the warmth of the sun on this beautiful day.
"Enjoying the sun, are we?" Johanna smiled at her Pokémon and laughed. She picked up a book from the kitchen counter that read "Pokémon Contests: A passion worth pursuing" and narrowed her eyes at Glameow.
"Just make sure you don't knock over that vase, alright?" the coordinator pointed at an expensive-looking vase. Glameow made a sound resembling a sigh and turned away from its trainer, not keen on being lectured.
Raising an eyebrow, Johanna made her way over into the living room and sat down on the couch. In a matter of seconds, her mind was completely focused on the book in her hands.
The ring of the doorbell caught Johanna's attention. A quick glance at the clock revealed that only about half an hour had passed, even though it felt like hours. "This book is just too good," Johanna murmured. Just as she put away the book and stood up to open the door, she heard footsteps rushing down the stairs.
"Dawn!" Johanna scolded her daughter, "How many times do I have to tell you to use the stairs like a normal person?"
She didn't receive an answer. Instead, the front door was opened and then closed again, with as little noise as possible. Confused, Johanna froze and listened. When she heard mumbling in the hallway, she went to investigate.
Carefully peeking around the corner, she noticed Paul, the purple-haired boy her daughter considered her boyfriend, much to Johanna's dismay. Paul handed Dawn a small box, which the girl accepted excitedly. After Paul had taken off his shoes, Dawn immediately rushed up the stairs.
"Oh Paulie, this is gonna be so much fun!" she chirped, "I can't believe we're actually doing this!" Slowly making his way up the staircase, Paul groaned, "Why do you have to make such a big deal out of this? It will probably be over before you know it."
"Oh come on, can't you be just a little more excited? This is gonna be our first time doing this after all!" Dawn tried to win over her boyfriend. With a giggle, she added, "And you know what? Since I know you'll never say it outright, this is the perfect chance for you to show me that you love me."
"Whatever..." Johanna could hear Paul mumble before the door to Dawn's room was closed. The coordinator was left dumbfounded, not daring to believe what she had just heard.
Her heart was racing, her mind conflicted on what to do. Usually, Johanna made sure to give her daughter all the privacy she needed, but this seemed to be another matter entirely.
"No," the coordinator eventually stated firmly, "They will not be sinning in my house. Not when I'm home, and not in broad daylight!" With those words, she made her way over to the bottom of the staircase.
Pausing, Johanna listened. She heard her daughter giggle and then, to her absolute shock, Paul groaned audibly. "Want me to keep going?" Dawn teased.
"That's it!" Johanna whispered, "This needs to stop before it goes too far!" With big steps, she ascended the staircase, making sure to keep as quiet as possible. She figured that she'd have to catch them in the act, otherwise they might just try again next time.
At the top, Johanna stopped again. "My turn now..." she could practically hear Paul's smirk through the door, "Let's see how you like this!"
The coordinator quickly moved over to the door leading to Dawn's room and mentally prepared herself for what was to come.
"Oh!" Dawn gasped, with Paul smirking again, "How does that fe-"
Johanna pushed open the door and burst into the room, expecting the worst. "Hold it right there!" she yelled out, "No more sin-"
Instantly, she turned silent. Her daughter on the other hand jumped and screamed, "Mom! Don't scare us like that!" Paul remained sitting on the floor, both motion- and expressionless, almost as if he had expected Johanna to burst in.
It took a while for Dawn to catch her breath, before asking, "What do you want, mom? Can't you see we're playing a game?"
Johanna was dumbfounded once again. Her eyes darted around the room, searching for any suspicious activity, but there was none. Instead, her daughter and Paul were simply sitting in the middle of the room, a deck of Uno cards in between them.
Apparently, Paul had just played a Wild Draw Four, causing Dawn's hand to increase once more even though she had been very close to winning the game, as far as Johanna could tell.
"I, um," the coordinator stuttered, quite embarrassed. Unexpectedly, Paul answered for her.
"She thought we were sinning, Dawn," he explained calmly, another smirk developing on his face. "She what?!" Dawn squealed, beginning to blush profusely.
"I see that you're not, um..." Johanna mumbled, now also blushing. Dawn stood up to close the door behind her mother, who began to awkwardly leave the room. "No mom! We're not sinning!" her daughter quickly exclaimed, her face still crimson red.
Just as Dawn was about to close the door, Paul exclaimed, "For that, we'd have to actually be alone!"
"PAUL!" the blue-haired girl shrieked and quickly slammed the door shut in front of her mother before the situation could escalate any further.

A/N: I really hope you like this little story! I know it's been a few years since I've posted anything, but I'm back! At least for now, I don't know how long this burst of motivation will last lol
I'm thinking about revamping my other stories first, but after that, I'm looking forward to writing new stuff!
I'll probably open a new book to notify you all when I have updated one of my stories, so if you want to know, just look in that book!
Anyway, since I'm no native speaker and/or have never played Uno in English before, I have no idea if there are any colloquial/casual terms to refer to the cards so I just used the name from Wikipedia. If you have a better name than "Wild Draw Four", feel free to tell me so I can change it :)
Lastly, thanks again to Sylveon12 for letting me use her idea! If you liked this story, I'm sure you'll like hers as well!
