I ran. And I ran, all until I was out of breath. I look at my surroundings finally focusing, I don't know where I am. A forest, all I see ahead is trees and nothing more.
The panic starts to set in as I realize I am far from town. I feel a sense of hopelessness, I break down worried and wondering if I will ever make it home or whether I've lost my way and have to spend the night in the cold pitch black darkness. But then it hits me, a drop in the temperature, wind. the sky has gotten darker even though it should be around 3:00pm.
A drop of rain... a storm is coming. All hope feels lost but then I feel it, my compass! I quickly grab it from my handbag and follow it's navigation hoping it can bring me home. I have so much excitement I barely even realize the blazing wind and the violent rain. I pick up the pace wishing nothing bad should happen.
There, a windmill! The lake! it's all so familiar now and I know the way back home. a rush of adrenaline flows through my body as I run and run, but that soon comes to a stop. A Bang! A crash! down comes a tree and I try to run out it's way but I fail. It falls over me, I'm stuck, I yell in hopes someone hears
"Help! Help! I'm stuck somebody help"
nothing. nobody in sight, I lay there feeling nothing, but then.... a familiar voice! the voice of somebody who's been there since day one for me. Sarah!
"Rose oh my goodness what happened!? Are you alright? I have to get you out of here quick!"
The thunder crashed down with more force and the rain grows fierce. But that doesn't stop Sarah, after so many tries on the last tiring push makes the tree and I break apart free.
The wind and rain is so violent I can barely see her but I feel her. Scared, worried, panic. We both hug and express so much of what we feel even through the silence. we end the hug and she helps me to her small hut at her father's garden near the lake.
We sit there and she questions me countless times asking if I'm okay, everything is fine all until. I feel weak.
"Sarah I- I feel weak, a pain"
"Where?" she says as she grabs her first aid kit
"m-my leg.." I feel so dizzy. She looks at my leg and shows a shocked expression, she lays me down and grabs an ointment along with bandages. It happens so fast I forgot what I felt. My leg was wounded and there was a lot of blood loss. But before it got severe she patched me all up.
