where
you wait for your next flight
you transfer buses
you take a quick breather
just like millions of other people,
you're just passing by
because this was never where you're headed to
stopovers are places
where you'll be for the nonce
stopovers can be linked to
the people you meet temporarily ;
only staying for a period of time
the term 'temporary' doesn't mean its bad
its just not the place
where you're supposed to be
its just not that 'someone'
whom you're supposed to be with
stopovers offer you shelter
for the meantime
keep you preoccupied
for a little while
you and i could be someone's stopover ;
vice versa
they'll leave eventually and so will you
who knows,
maybe -
we're all each other's stopover in some way?
it might hurt a bit that
you're just a mere part
of it all
like
a fleeting moment,
a brief encounter
but its all part of the journey and the process
i'm learning to realise that now.
you've got your own destination to get to.
