Kim Min Kyu- She is my wife

Kim Min Kyu is a popular actor who was currently on the set of a new historical Korean drama called My Queen, My Love. It was about a Crown Prince of the Joseon era who married a foreign African princess. The marriage was a political alliance as Joseon wanted to build stronger ties with other emerging powers in the world. The Crown Prince eventually falls in love with the African princess as they realize that they are really just the same. Two people who love their countries and want to create a better world for their people. The story discusses the hardships the African princess endures learning the politics of the new country and dealing with the scorned girl who had been originally intended as the Crown Prince's bride. The drama itself is revolutionary as its the first drama with an interracial couple. It's also the first Korean drama with a black female lead named Y/n Kim. Y/n has some Korean blood as her paternal grandfather was Korean, but she was mostly black. She had come to South Korea as a university student and started her career as a YouTube personality that made reviews about Korean dramas. Her channel became very popular because she was a black girl that spoke fluent Korean. She had a fun and adorable personality that everyone loved. She would give praise when it was deserved and called out things that she saw as lazy writing or plot holes in stories. Some people did not like her and sometimes racist comments were made but Y/n had more supporters than haters and they were loyal in their defence of her. Y/n eventually got small parts in commercials and movies, receiving praise for her acting skills but her role as the African princess in the drama My Queen, My Love was her first major role. The success of this drama will launch her into an amazing career. Min Kyu has been a huge fan of Y/n ever since his makeup artist put him on her YouTube videos three years ago. He was very happy to be working with the beautiful Y/n again. He was also excited to be apart of something different and being able to introduce the Korean people to other cultures. The drama had a great cast except for the woman cast at the noble woman who had initially been trained to be the Crown Prince's wife. Kang Han Na was a popular actress who is as talented as she is beautiful. She isn't called Korea's darling for nothing and to the average person she was a sweet, down to earth person. The people in the industry however knew better. Kang Han Na was a rich, spoilt brat that was difficult to work with. Her father is a very famous actor turned director and her mother was a former Miss Korea winner who also became a successful actress. She's practically royalty in the Asian acting world and could get the lead role of any movie, tv show, or commercial she wanted. No one quite knew why she had chosen this project. Kang Han Na as a rule never accepted the second lead's role and no one was stupid enough to send her a script for one either. It was baffling to the director when she specifically requested to audition for the second lead role. It became very clear once filming started why she took the role. Kang Han Na wanted Kim Min Kyu. He was young, talented, sexy and best of all rich. Her parents had introduced many men to her in the hopes that she would marry but she had rejected them all. For some reason her heart skipped a beat when she saw him in a recent Pepsi commercial. She decided that she wanted him but realized that there wasn't an opportunity to meet him without making it seem like she planned the meeting. Unfortunately what she did not know was Kim Min Kyu was unavailable. There were some rumours that he was dating a couple years ago. Some even speculated that he had been married for several years, but he kept it a secret so that he could pursue his acting career. The actor had never confirmed nor denied the rumours. The truth was he had been dating for two years and had only very recently gotten married. He planned to disclose his married status after filming his current drama. Very few people knew that he was married and fewer still knew that the lead actress Y/n Kim was his wife. It soon became obvious to the staff members that there was genuine chemistry between the main leads and many suspected that they were secretly dating. This caused tension between the female leads which was great for the drama, but was uncomfortable when there was down time. It was a month after filming had started that Han Na noticed the interaction between the leads. They had just wrapped up a very sexually charged scene between the Crown Prince and the African princess. That was when Han Na began to suspect the emotions that the lead actors were showing was more than just good acting. There was something genuine between them during that scene. From that day she started to look for any proof that something more was going on between Kim Min Kyu and Y/n. What frustrated her was that she could get no dirt on them. They were always extremely professional around each other and the staff on set. There were rumours but she was not able to prove them. One evening Han Na was walking in the forest that they were filming in when she heard someone talking. She saw Kim Min Kyu on the phone and she carefully crept closer and began to record him on her phone. "Babe I know its hard but please just trust me. I want to properly introduce you as my wife but this is Korea, we have to be delicate about these things." He stuck his hand in his pocket and sighed. "It's hard for me too but know that I love you very much and we will get through this."
Han Na put her hand over her mouth. So the rumours that Min Kyu was married were true. Well apparently it's a secret since he hasn't made a formal announcement. At first Han Na felt betrayal and anger. How dare Kim Min Kyu get married; he belonged to her and she wasn't going to let him go. As she carefully walked back to her trailer she began to think. She could blackmail both Y/n and Min Kyu. Y/n for dating a married man and Min Kyu for cheating on his wife. She began to smile to herself, it would seem Christmas came early for her this year.
A wrap up party was thrown to celebrate the completion of the drama. The staff and actors were even more happy because the drama was very well received in South Korea and was extremely popular in the west. While everyone was having a good time, Han Na decided to approach Y/n. Most of the staff, film crew and actors were either drunk or getting there. Y/n never did drink much so she was still nursing her first drink.
"I know your secret"
Y/n turned to Han Na "Excuse me?"
"It all makes sense now. The amount of chemistry that you shared with Min Kyu was uncanny since this was your first major role. It was very authentic."
Y/n looked into Han Na's eyes without flinching "You got something to say? Say it. I don't have time for your nonsense" She replies.
Han Na began to smirk "If I were you I would watch your tone. Considering I know that your sleeping with Min Kyu who is a married man by the way. Everyone thinks your this amazing person yet here you are wrecking another woman's home."
Han Na feeling triumphant was not expecting Y/n to laugh in her face. After Y/n wiped the tears of mirth from her eyes she snickered "Since when did you develop morals? Or are you gonna pretend that eight years ago you weren't caught in bed with a high profile CEO. His wife almost snatched the soul out your body. The only reason why you managed to escape the scandal was because you were still a minor. Everyone fell for the 'I was seduced' narrative that your family created. Now if you will excuse me, I have better things to do with my time."
And as Y/n was leaving she turned to Han Na with a smirk on her face "Oh, and as for Min Kyu's wife she going to appear this evening. I highly doubt she would have an issue with me"
Han Na was dumbfounded as Y/n walked away. She just told her that she knew about her affair and Y/n barely batted an eye. In fact she even laughed, almost as if she knew a secret. Something wasn't right. She watched as Y/n walked over to Min Kyu and the table set up for the main cast. Min Kyu was given the opportunity to give a speech. "I just want to thank each and everyone of you for making this project such a big success. The cast, the writers, the director and all the crew members who worked hard, battling the hot sun and heavy rains. I know that interracial relationships are still taboo in Korea but with this story we were able to shed a more positive light on them. Embracing our differences will only make us stronger. People have the right to love whoever they want regardless of race. A person's character and what they stand for is what matters. I also wanted to thank my friends and family for supporting me in this drama. They have been through a lot because of me but their love and support gave me a lot strength." He smiled and his dimples appeared causing most of the women in the room to sigh. Han Na was not immune. Min Kyu continued to speak "Now I know that you have heard rumours about my relationship status. I'm sure by now many of you have already known the truth or at least suspected it. I want to officially announce that I am in a relationship and I got married five months ago. An official press release by my agency was released this morning."
Ha Na was angry and felt rejected. The opportunity to embarrass and shame Y/n was too good to pass up. She also wanted to humiliate Min Kyu for rejecting her affections. Han Na started a slow clap with a twisted smirk on her face, as she walked up the table the Min Kyu, Y/n and the main cast were sitting at "So, is this the part where you start singing the praises of your long suffering wife? Does she know that her husband had been fooling around with the lead of his new drama? I have a recording of you talking to your wife on the phone at night. You have also been caught sneaking in and out of Y/n's trailer a few times. And everyone here turned a blind eye to it." Most of the staff were either confused or annoyed. Some staff wondered if Han Na had had too much to drink. Min Kyu arched an eyebrow "I wasn't aware spending time with my own wife was so offensive to you." Han Na was about to reply when she belatedly picked up on what Min Kyu said. She watched as Min Kyu placed his arm around Y/n waist, bringing her closer to his side and kissed her softly. "Since you didn't hear the news, let me enlighten you. Y/n is my wife. The director thought we would make a great fit for the drama since we were a real interracial couple. Y/n and I have been trending on Twitter all day. What rock were you living under?" Some of the staff and cast members began snickering at Han Na. Even the elder cast members were bemused. The other day, Han Na in a fit of anger threw her phone into a lake and had not yet gotten a replacement phone. That was why she didn't know what was happening on Twitter. Now she knows why Y/n laughed in her face when she confronted her. Y/n couldn't help but laugh at the facial expression that Han Na made as she realized that she had been made a fool of. "This was why I always ignored you. I don't need to compete with you for a man that was already mine. You played yourself sis."
