Lockdown that night starts unusually, at least for us.
Since girls are liked by the guy spirits (for obvious reasons), Zak and the crew decide to have Karren investigate for part of the night with us.
Karren walks in, dressed in blue jeans and a tank top that hugs her body. She shrugs at my questioning look, and I shrug back. My holey jeans and loose T-shirt are fine for me.
We start in the bar area, where glasses are said to fall from their holders and people are pushed down the stairs by an angry male spirit.
I'm leaning against a table at one end of the room, watching Zak pace the room with my camera. Alex is sitting at another table. Karren is behind the bar, leaning onto it with her elbows, watching all of us through her camera.
“We know that you like girls. Well, we have two of them for you. Do what you will with them," Zak says, pausing by the bar, holding the recorder in his hand. We go around and around the room for the next hour, each of us asking questions, taunting the spirits, or asking them to move something or touch one of us.
Karren gets released the next hour, nothing happening to her. We wait in the bar area for a while longer, then move on.
I'm with Alex in the brothel rooms, while Zak is with Mark in the kitchen. Alex and I explore, looking for any more suggestive drawings like the ones in the first room. We try to contact Daisy, but nothing comes through.
Then, Zak separates all of us for a bit. I stay upstairs in the brothel rooms, Alex in the kitchen, Zak in the bar area, and Mark with Jae at nerve center.
I lean against the wall with the drawings, trying to ignore it. An EVP recorder rests in my hand, which I think about not even using. But I know I have to. I click record, then wait a few seconds.
"Where are you, Daisy?... Why were you murdered?... How many spirits are here right now?... Why won't you answer us when we ask you questions?..."
I wait a few more seconds, then click the stop button. Holding it close to my ear and camera, I click rewind, and listen. At my third question, a female voice says, "Eleven." At the very next question, a deep male voice says, "Too many people." I relate the voices I hear to my camera, then start another session.
"Do you like it better now that I'm alone?... Who is the spirit pushing people down the stairs?... Why do you torment the female workers here?..."
I pause the recording, then listen to it. Every one of my questions are answered. "Yes," hisses a voice after my first question. "Kevin," whispers a female voice fearfully after the second. "Because they deserve it," growls a male voice at the end.
The hairs on my arms stand up as a cold breeze blows past me, but the anger surging through me almost makes me not notice the strange phenomenon in this place.
I stand straight, almost growling as I start rolling again. "Why do they deserve it, Kevin? Why do the girls here deserve your punishment?" I ask, anger spraying acid all over my words.
I wait, then ask another round of questions, these about Daisy. When I rewind my audio, though, I hear nothing, and that frustrates me more than anything.
Jae calls for us to come back to nerve center. I march downstairs, anger flying off of me in waves. Zak glances at me, but says nothing, no doubt sensing my annoyance and knowing enough to let me simmer for a while before talking to me.
"Alright, team. Jae, Alex, Saira, and I will go to the bar area again. Let's see if the spirits want to come play even more," Zak says, leading the way out the door. We follow him into the back bar area, all the way to the stairs that lead up into the brothel rooms.
