Chapter 1

Lance woke up to his mom screaming for him to get ready for school. So he got up and threw on a pair of blue jeans, his long-sleeved white shirt with blue sleeves, and some blue converse. He then went to the kitchen where his mom has cooked pancakes for breakfast.

"mañana mamá," Lance said to his mother. (morning)

"Por la mañana, cariño," Gloria said back, handing him a plate.

"¿dónde están los otros?" Lance asked his mom. (where's the others?)

"Ellos ya se fueron. Mari se llevó a Nina y Nico, y AJ se llevó a Lola y Adrián." Gloria answered Lance. (they left already. Mari took Nina and Nico, and AJ took Lola and Adrian.)

"Oh. De acuerdo." Lance said. (oh. ok.)

Lance finished eating, grabbed his bag, phone, keys, and wallet. Gloria gave her son a packed lunch and sent him on his way. Lance said bye to his mom and started walking to school listening to Shakira. While he was walking he quietly sang.

When he got to school he took out his headphones and went on the hunt for Hunk. He found him in the breakfast line giving the cooks some homemade cookies.

"Ho ho! I'll have one of those sunshine." Lance said popping out from behind Hunk.

"Here bud." Hunk said handing him one of the big cookies.

"Thanks. Where's everybody else?" Lance asks.

"Keith is with Shiro, Pidge is with Matt, and they're all at our usual table." Hunk answered.

"Then let's go," Lance said dragging Hunk to the table.

"Hey everybody! Lancey Lance here with the beautiful master chef Hunk." Lance said coming up to the table.

"Hey Lance," Shiro said.

"So what's everyone talking about?" Lance asked.

"Shiro's upcoming game Friday," Keith answered and Lance and Hunk sat down.

"Oh. I'll see if I can go. Just have to get out of babysitting." Lance said.

"Oh yeah! How is Adrian? You said he was sick a couple of days ago." Shiro asked caringly.

"He's fine now. It was just one of those day colds. Mama just had him stay home an extra day in case he was still contagious." Lance explained.

"That's good," Shiro said.

"So you're coming to the game?" Matt asked Lance.

"I'll try," Lance said.

The bell rang and they headed to class. Pidge headed to her smart classes while Keith, Hunk, and Lance head to their regular classes. In first period Hunk has Math, while Lance and Keith have Spanish. Lance feels he'll pass this with a breeze since he speaks Spanish fluently it being his native language but Keith looks worried.

"You ok Keith?" Lance asks.

"Huh? Uh, yeah. Just gonna fail this class is all." Keith said.

"Hmm. I know. Sit beside me and I can help you with your work. Spanish is my native language so I have no problems." Lance said.

"You sure?" Keith asked.

"Yeah. Come on bud. Do you like to sit in the front or the back?" Lance asked.

"The back," Keith answered.

"Cool, me too! Let's get a seat." Lance said.

So they went to a table at the back and sat down. This room had big tables that fit two so they sat together. When the teacher came in she advised everyone to take a seat. Then she had a question for the class.
