"are you testing my patience?" damian looks at you straight in the eyes for you were clearly just sitting in front of him. you looked up from your calculus book, studying his features and there in his hand was a small but thick book resting its spine on the middle of his ring finger, and his middle finger, holding it properly in place.

"i told you to leave," he finalizes, brows furrowed together.

"and i told you that i don't want to."

"you're ruining the peaceful atmosphere around here, [last name]." he says, and returned to reading his book, probably satisfied by how harsh he sounded.

"well better now or never, right?" you laughed.

"you're despicable."

you knitted your brows at what he suddenly said, before standing up from your seat, phone in hand. damian smirks behind the book he's reading, thinking he's finally able to get rid of you.

you went to the librarian, and before you can talk to her, you unlocked your phone to record the conversation you'll have with her. you smiled, "hi miss smith! say, do you think i'm ruining the peaceful atmosphere here in the library? a friend of mine told me but i'm pretty skeptical about it, i'm not causing trouble, am i?" you start, and mentally scolded yourself for acknowledging the younger wayne as your friend.. you knew he was going to hate that.

"also, i love your hair today! i mean it looks cute yesterday but i like it better with how you curled it." you added cheerfully, but careful not to make your voice sound too loud.

everybody says that miss smith was always a scary lady, but you're sure she was far from that. sure, she might look a little serious most of the time, but you've always learned how to look at things in a better angle, you know, because there's always a silver lining to everything. and honestly, that helped you through a lot. because judging someone else based on rumors would most likely get you in trouble so you're thankful you're away from those kinds of things.

"oh heavens no, you're far from trouble, dearie. and thank you for the compliment, now hurry on and read, the library's closing soon." she smiled back and you waved at her as you leave, heading to where you and damian's sitting at earlier. when you reached the table, he noticed your presence and immediately spat out, "why are you here again?"
