My mate was my Alpha, Alpha Blake. When he looked my way, I returned to what I was doing.

I became embarrassed when I felt my cheeks turned red. For a moment, I knew that he was staring at me since I thought his eyes burned a hole in my head.

I didn't know if he already figured out that I was his mate, but since he was an Alpha, I assumed that he already did.

I looked towards him again and saw that he gave me an intense gaze. I'm curious what he's thinking about.

Even though Alpha Blake had the reputation of being cruel, I hoped he didn't act that way towards me. I also hoped that he accepted me for who I was.

Everyone else noticed the looks that Blake and I exchanged. Blake then quickly looked away and spoke up.

"Good morning. For the remainder of the year, I will be your English teacher since your old teacher died this past weekend." He said with a blank facial expression and voided emotion from his voice.

A student then raised their hand. "Yes." Blake nodded his head towards them.

"How did they die?" She asked. I turned my head and saw that it was Leah.

She was the head cheerleader and used to bully me. I hated her with a passion and always wanted to beat her up, but I held back my powers.

She then noticed that I was staring at her and rolled her eyes while I rolled my eyes back at her.

For a moment, we had a staring eye contest. She looked away from me when Blake spoke up.

"Hunters killed him because he was a Lycan wolf." He said.

I gasped. I thought I was the only Angel wolf that lived in my pack. There could be more.

Everyone turned their attention towards me, even Blake.

"What?" I looked around.

"Anyway, enough about that, let's get to work." Blake clapped his hands together.

He then walked towards the board and wrote down the keywords we needed to study.

...

For the rest of the class period, Blake didn't look my way again. When the bell rang, I got up and placed my things inside my bag.

I zipped up my book bag and put it over my shoulder. I then walked out of the classroom. I was a little disappointed because Blake didn't ask me to stay.

I thought once you found your mate, you wouldn't ever want to let them go. Leah stayed after, and I wondered why.

...

After history class ended, I walked outside the school and waited for my mom to pick me up.

She finally drove into the school parking lot. I then walked towards her car and quickly got inside.

"How was school?" She asked when she drove out of the parking lot.

"Same old." I sighed while she nodded her head.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked.

"No." I wasn't ready to tell her that I found my mate and there was a possibility that he didn't want me. What guy would want me?

Once he knew that I was one of the endangered species, he might've even rejected me.

"You know you can tell me anything, right." She said pointedly.

"Yes, Mom, I know." I looked out the car window and saw that she drove quickly past the trees.

Since it was fall, some leaves on the trees had changed to orange, red, and yellow.

"Alright." She said after a moment of silence.

Throughout the car ride, neither one of us had spoken a word.

The only noise within the car was one of my favorite songs by Sam Smith that played on the radio.

...

After we finally arrived home, I was greeted by my brother, Matt.

He was one of the best pack warriors; he was popular, and everyone loved him.

You could say that Matt and I were opposites. When I walked into the kitchen, Matt gave me a bear hug.

"Jen, what's up?" He smiled. After a moment, I realized that he smelled like unwashed armpits.

"Ewww, get off of me." I pushed him away from me.

"I can't give my little sister a hug anymore." He rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, after you take a shower, you dipshit." I glared at him while I held the bridge of my nose.

"Hey, no cursing." Dad looked up at me from the newspaper he held while he sat at the kitchen table.

"Fine." I sighed. He then looked down and flipped one of the pages of his newspaper.

"Are they fucking morons or just fucking assholes?" Dad cursed angrily.

I gave him a skeptical look. "I thought you said no curing."

"Yeah, I'm the parent here, not you." He pointed between him and me. Moments later, my mom walked into the kitchen.

"Hey, I don't feel like cooking today. Do you guys want pizza?" She asked while she held her phone in her hand.

"Dear, you don't have to ask since you know pizza is my favorite food," Dad said.

"Yeah, mine too." Matt and I said in unison.

Mom then held her phone back to her ear and ordered six large boxes of pepperoni and plain pizza. Since we are wolves, we ate a lot.

While we waited for the delivery of our pizza, I looked at each of my family members.

I loved them all and knew that no matter what happened, I would be fine.

I Am Fine.
