Kai's Unfortunate Circumstance

Broken Trust

Lloyd POV:

Everyone immediately went to find the mirror when dawn broke. Not that you can blame us for doing it. Kai...Our friend...Our Brother has been touched by the hands of the Overlord. The same man who's intent on turning everyone evil. I hope that we save Kai before it's too late, but it seems impossible without that mirror. 

However we also have to figure out why the Overlord took him from us. Does he just want to taunt us with stories of his treatment towards him or wants to do something sinester towards Kai. It's all so confusing. I just think that Kai is more damaged then anyone's imagining due to this. Please Kai don't give up on us because we'll never give up on you.

Kai POV:

I looked at the wall across from me with a sad expression. My family..abandoned me for what I did. I thought that they cared about me however..this is giving me some serious doubts. My friends probably stopped searching for me and are just concentrating on the Overlord. For some reason..I'm finding comfort from his presence. It's funny..A couple of days ago I hated his guts and now..I don't know how I'm feeling about him. At the same time, I keep thinking about Lloyd and how my heart hurt when I heard that he's disgusted by me. 

I was so caught up in my thoughts that I hardly realized that the Overlord came into my cell.

"Hello Darling, How are you holding up?" He asked.

"I'm conflicted. I used to think that my family cared yet..they abandoned me once they knew what we did." I Said.

"Face it Darling, they never cared for you...it was all an act. They all hated you and wanted you gone from there lives. In fact, they're partying it up as we speak." He said. I started sobbing when I heard that. Everything that I thought was a lie. They never cared. I gave them my trust and loyalty yet they threw me away. 

"W..Who do..I..put..m.my..tr..trust..in..n.now? If..not..th..them..then..who?" I asked while sobbing. When suddenly the Overlord pulled me into his arms and rubbed circles behind my back. 

"You can put your trust in me. I will never abandon you like the ninja did. Just open up your heart for me Darling so we can be happy together." He said. After a while, I stopped crying and started to feel myself becoming tired.

"I'll put my trust in you Overlord, but don't make me forget it." I Said. He quickly put me down and put a blanket around me. For the first time for a while..I felt safe and loved in his arms.

I won't regret placing my trust in the Overlord. Right?
