After the plane crash

Chapter 01

Lexie P.O.V.

It's been 3 months since the Plane Crash and I can finally start working again. As I'm busy getting dressed I realized that it will also be the first day I see Mark again after the plane crash. I wish I could tell him how I feel I've been holding it in for so long,but of course I can't because he's with Julia. I quickly stop myself and finish getting ready for work.
It took about 15 minutes to get here but I'm finally at the hospital. I park my car in my spot,take a deep breath and get out of the car. I finally see Meredith,Derek and little Zolla. "Oh hey Lex" Meredith greets me. "Hey Mer.Derek.And how's my favourite niece? "I give Meredith and Derek a hug before picking up Zola. "Oh well I'm a bit sick Aunt Let aren't I?"Meredith says in her baby voice,just then my pager goes off "911 at the pit".I quickly give Zola back greet everyone and run into the hospital.
When I got to the pit I took a gown and suddenly I feel to hands by my neck ting my gown I turn around to see Mark. "Thanks" I mumble. He nods his head and turn to Dr.Hunt the Chief of Surgery. "What do we have Chief?" Mark asks.
"Young female age 18 car crash went trough the windscreen.Has multiple burns to the right side of her face and a possible brain bleed."Owen replies. "Wait, sorry for interrupting Chief but why am I here and shouldn't Dr. Shepherd be here?" I suddenly ask confused. "No, Dr. Shepherd is off duty today so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to see if you can be an attending,that's if you want this surgery." Owen replies."Of course sir, thank you and I promise I won't let you down." I say. "I hope so little Grey." I can't believe I have my first solo surgery.As we walk to our patients room Julia suddenly walks up to me and Mark kisses him right in front of me and wishes him luck and I feel a sudden pain in my chest like someone stabbed me. I look the other way pretending not to notice her until she says "good luck Lexie" I then say thank you but in the inside it feels like I could just mash her head against the wall. We arrive outside our patients room and I take the patient chart from the nurse I quickly read through it and then give it to Mark. I walk into the room. "Hello Sarah I'm Dr.Grey and this is Dr.Sloan and we will be operating on you today but I first want to run some test before I operate if that's okay with you?" I ask and she nods I then told the intern to take her for a CT and MRI and to page me when the results are up. I then went out of the room and into the closest on-call room. Just as I was about to lie down Mark bursts into the room. "Let, are you awake?" ughhhh, I sigh and then answer "Yes,I'm awake what do you want?" "Well, I was hoping we could talk?" "About....?" "About us?" I let out a laugh and then say coldly "well then I have nothing to say to you Dr.Sloan." I then turn around and lie down and Mark leaves the room. 5 minutes later the intern comes in and tells me the results are back I take a look at the scans but realize that Sarah has a tumor, I quickly run to Sarah's room and tell her. "I'm afraid we have to operate now.It turns out that you have a tumor on the brain as well as a brain bleed. Now this is very risky but not impossible. Do you have any questions?" she looks at me. "What if I don't want the surgery what will happen? And how Manny surgeries will I need?" "You'll need two surgeries one to stop the brain bleed and another to remove the tumor,now if you don't get surgery it can cause your brain to swell that will then eventually lead to death." "So if I get the surgery I can live but no surgery means I die." "Practically yes." "Okay then take me to surgery." "okay I'll be back in 10-15 minutes and then I'll take you to the OR".I walk out and tell the intern to prep Sarah for surgery and to get me an OR stat,I then look for Owen when I found him I told him about Sarah's condition and then went straight to the OR.I quickly scrubbed in and then started the surgery to stop the brain bleed. After few hours of surgery I could successfully close up of and send Sarah up to recovery. I went to update her family and then went to the nurses station signed Sarah's file and told the nurse to page me when something happens I then went to the on-call room and rested.It was about 2 hours later when my pager suddenly goes off.I quickly read it it's Sarah.Dammit I quickly take my lab coat and put it on and run up to Sarah's room. I run in and start giving orders. "Page and the Chief we have to get her to an OR stat." the nurse nod and run out to go get the chief. "Lower her bed 90 degrees.Push another epie and then incubate." the stupid intern doesn't know how to incubate. "Move out of the way." I then incubate Sarah. Just the new the Chief comes in. "What the hell happened Little Grey?" "She crashed sir but I managed to get her back but we have to get her into an OR stat before she starts coding again there's too much pressure on her brain we have to relieve some of the pressure by taking off a piece of her skull." "Ok OR 3 is already ready I can postpone my surgery till tomorrow.Go Grey what are you waiting for." "Right away sir.Oh and should I page Dr.Sloan to get a sale of her skin?" the Chief then nods and I page Mark to OR 3.I then go into the scrub room and start scrubbing in when suddenly Mark comes in and start scrubbing in. Just when I was about to apologize to Mark,Sarah suddenly crashes. I run into the OR and start doing compressions. "Get me a crashcart right now." I pick up the peddles put gel on them. "Charge 150.Clear" everyone removes their hands and I shock Sarah. Dammit nothing. "Charge 25.Clear." still nothing. "Charge 350.Clear." I look at the monitor and suddenly I hear a beeping. "Heart rates back up and her BP is stable. Let's operate. I walk up to Sarah's brain and start operating suddenly I see the Chief. "Well done Grey you've proven to me you are ready to be an attending keep up the good work." I smile and respond "thank you Chief." with that I put down the scalpel and give Mark space to get a sample of Sarah's skin. I rap her head with bandage and went to scrub out. Mark comes into the scrub room and scrub out. It was silent for about a minute then Mark speaks up.   "You did a good job in there Lex." "Thank you,and I'm sorry about earlier today I didn't mean what I said." he looks at me and then just walks out. I do the same.I went to Sarah's room to find her awake. I explain to her what happened and then went home. As I climb into my car I suddenly see a crying Julia running out of the hospital and Mark following. I turn back around and open my car door and climbed in I was about to close the door when I heard Mark call me. "Lex I'm still in love with you.I trued not to be but it didn't work.And now Julia is out of the picture and I don't want to sleep around anymore.I want another chance.I'm in love with you." I look at him stunned not knowing what to say. So I tell a lie. "Dickson, he's...Mark,I have a boyfriend." he looks shocked. "I know,I'm saying you can have a husband." with that he left me and I closed the door and started driving on my way to my house I think about what Mark said. I quickly turned around and went to Mark's apartment,I had to tell him I love him. Suddenly I see a bright light and then I saw black and that's the last thing I remembered.

A/N the part where Mark tells Lexie he's still in love with her I got from season 6 episode 22 I just changed the name.
