Chapter 10

Mark's P.O.V.

It's been 6 weeks since Lex and I got married andc3 weeks since she found out she was pregnant. Today was her first ultrasound. I woke up pretty early so I decided to go down stairs and make us some breakfast and pour Lex some orange juice and some coffee for me. We just finished unpacking our new home and we rented the apartment to Alex Karen and his new girlfriend Jo Wilson. I was done making breakfast and was about to take it upstairs when I felt Lex right behind me. "Good morning Mr. Sloan" she greeted me. I turned around to face her picked her up and put her on the counter. I kiss her and in between kisses I greet her. "Good morning Mrs. Sloan." we kissed again. After Lex just looked at the bacon and eggs she quickly males a run for the bathroom to vomit. I flow her and Joe her hair back as she vomits. After vomiting out her lungs Lexie got into the shower and got ready for work. I went down to the kitchen and cleaned the kitchen. "Lex come on we're gonna be late for our appointment." just then Lexie came down the stairs. "Okay let's go." she says kissing me. When we got to the hospital we went straight to OB. We waited for like 5 minutes when the nurse came out and called us in. "Lexie Sloan." we stood up and followed the nurse. Just then Julia walks in. "Hi I'm Dr. Kenner and I'm gonna be you're doctor." she looks up and sees me and Mark. "Oh I didn't know you were married.Congratulations." we share a look. "Uhmm thank you." she then starts the ultrasound. "The gel is going to be cold but it's worth it." after five minutes we hear a small heart beat. Lex and I look at each other and smile. Julia then walks out and leave me and Lexie alone we then went out to the elevator and went to the attending lounge. We quickly got dressed into our scrubs shared a kiss and went our separate ways. Suddenly I got paged to the pit. "Young girl age 10 lost 80% of her skin on the left side of her face.Needs a lung transplant and skin transplant ASAP and she has a brain tumor." the paramedic said. A young women followed and cried. "Please help my baby girl." I look at her and then at the girl assuming it's her daughter. "Mam could you please give me your daughters name." I asked her. "It's Gabriella Montez but we call her Gabi." I nod my head and turn to the nearest intern. "Page Dr.Robins,and a neuro attending." I yell to the intern. After 5 minutes Arizona and Lexie came into the girls room. "I told you to page Shepherd" I yelled at the intern. He was about to talk but Lexie interrupts him. "You paged a neuro surgeon." she walks passed me angry really angry. "We need to operate as soon as possible." she then turns to the intern. "Get an OR ready and page me,Dr.Robbins and Dr.Sloan when you are done." she walks past me to the nurses station and signs Gabi's chart. "Lex I don't think you should scrub in today." she looks at me in disbelieve. "I'm pregnant not disabled Mark I think I can make my own decisions." she walks back into Gabi's room. I walk in after her and see Gabi's awake. "Hi Gabi I'm Dr.Sloan,this is Dr.Robins and that's Dr.Sloan." she points to me and Arizona. "Is he your brother?" she asks Lexie blushing. We all laugh and I speak up. "No she's my wife.Pretty isn't she?" she nods her head and I look up at Lexie. "Dr.Robins could you please explain to Gabi what's going on I have to talk to Dr.Sloan." she nods her head and I drag mark into the closest room. "You know calling me pretty won't make me less angry." I walk closer to her and start kissing her. "How about that?" I ask her. "That might work but not now we have a patient to operate on." just then both our pagers went off and read "OR 3" we then went to prep Gabi for surgery. After the surgery Lexie and I went to the closest on-call room. She then locks the door and starts undressing herself and I so the same. When we reached our limits we then just laid there and I stroke her hair. "You know I'll always love you right?" she asks me. "I know and I'll always love you too." we then fell asleep until we got paged to Gabi's room. As we ran in Lexie started giving orders. "Push another epie and bring me a crash cart." I quickly started doing compressions. The nurse then came in with the crash cart and gave it to Lexie. "Charge to 100.Clear." I quickly remove my hands and Lexie shocked her. We all looked at the monitors but there was no change. "Charge to 150.Clear." I then took my hands off again and looked at the monitor and there was suddenly a beep. "We got her back." Lexie says.

Lexie's P.O.V.

I can't believe we almost lost that little girl. I went to the cafeteria and went to sit next to Meredith,Alex,Christina and Derek. "Where's Mark?" Derek asked. "He's still in surgery." he nods his head and Mer looks at me with the cup in my hand. "Lex you shouldn't be drinking coffee when you have a person growing inside of you." I look at her. "What three is pregnant?" Christina asks. "Yes I'm pregnant thank you Mer and I'm not drinking coffee I'm drinking orange juice." she nods her head. I then took a bite out of my apple and April sees me. "Lex why are you eating apples you hate them and you think they shouldn't even be a fruit. Mer I think something's wrong with Lexie." I roll my eyes. "There's nothing wrong with me I'm eating an apple because it's the only thing I don't vomit out. Okay I'm pregnant.Nothing else." she looks at me with big eyes and I stand up and walked away.
